Hey! Sorry to ask such a basic question but I haven't had much luck searching. Does anyone have some suggestions on a good BDR-style route down the Pacific coast from Oregon to the Bay Area, something that stays mostly in the Pacific Coast Range or something? I'm currently in Oregon following the Cascade discovery route south, but it sticks East in the Sierras once you get into California. I'm on a 690 Enduro with knobbies and am not afraid of a challenge or something tough and technical.
Not really much in the way of north-south routes thru the Coast Range or Sierras. Just bits and pieces. Try the Lost Coast/Usal Road, also try......., that's pretty much it without a lot of zig zag.
I've been working on this route for years. It would be big bike friendly. As much two track as possible. My route starts in Astoria, OR and ends at Clear Lake CA. Since everything is closed this year, I might actually get time to work on it. I could use an expert in the Astoria to Tillamook area.
Posted the GPS route across Oregon, Cathlemet Ferry to Applegate OR. https://advrider.com/f/threads/the-wet-edge-ds-route-down-the-coast-range.1454033/
There is something called the Pacific Crest Quest, and I think Countdown has worked on it. It's on my list, hopefully as a giant loop Mex to Can and back along the Sierras.
