Bears are not scary, People are. Last year a couple weeks after we where up there a guy lit another guy on fire. For those that where there it was At the gas station just a couple miles away. A guy walks in and throws some kind of fluid on the clerk and lit him on fire killing him. True story.

Anyway don't worry about bears, this is a state run campground and not out in the boonies. And if you want I can swing by and tell them not to bother you.

This is a good time for sure, but with the shorter days and the cooler weather, long day rides get cut short. Mainly getting started in the morning. Lots of good roads dirt/gravel. Last year after you all left I tried riding the Rail Road grade but it wasn't very good and the place I was at was for walking anyway.

I have my class sewed up this year with 3 remaining events, But This/that weekend I am going to mind my Grandson as he still needs to do a little work in his class to get the year end results I want him to achieve. His mom can't do it but I am working on his grandma and another subject to see if I can come, But my priorities are with the skinny bikes after the whole year of competing.

DR's are simple,I am a simple mechanic. 9 years so far nothing has broke on my 03. I did the Race Tech modded shock for 33,000 miles.............slapped a Cogent on and that's the best mod yet, mucho way better especially when the bike is loaded for travel.

I can see a nice day's ride up through the Delta, picking up 49 above Jackson, then through Grass Valley, Downieville, to 70, through Graeagle, Quincy, 89 around Lassen, then coast into camp. For the return, something that goes through Redding and out toward Eureka/Arcata, maybe camp along the coast near Petrolia, then loop back to 101 and head home. Crisp cool fall temperatures, should be fun. Street tires on my GS... :ricky

I hope the weather is nice, and the color is good. Seeing how hot its been, hopefully we get a little rain beforehand to keep the trees greener for longer.

The trees are green, it's just a little hard to see them thru the smoke.

Just don't forget your tent this time. Or if you're Gimpy, don't let your buddies barf in yours...

I/we would love to make it, but I'm really going to try to hit Joel's deal in November in NV the following weekend and it looks like a new gig will put me back to being a productive member of society meaning I'll be earning it again. :(
