Chris, not sure if your dates are fixed or not, but saw this on the Rallys page:

I might just head out for this.

    Congratulations Doc..

Any way to go back thru the files to count cases to see just how many lives you saved during your 43 year career?

For anyone to stay in a profession for 43 yrs is impressive in and of itself. I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of advancement in modern medicine yet the human body once open have look the same for all of recorded history.

Looking 50yrs out where do you see the science of surgery taking us? The DaVinci Robot leading the way?

Thanks! I would never use that grasper for such nefarious means. Remember, I grew up with Reefer Madness!:-)

Lol... I still have at least 25 years in EMS to go... But congrats on being able to enjoy life and relax alittle now... More miles on the bikes and hopefully spending time teaching some young bucks the ropes

Been there done that. I promised myself that I would go coast to coast on two wheels before I was 50 years old and was able fulfill that quest in '96, 99, 01, 03, and '05. Average mileage was about 7,500 on each crossing with different loops. Plan and execute your wish. Don't wait any longer!

Wow, who was drilling the teeth while you were wandering all over the country? Got the GPS route for the '05?
Ready to do it again with me?

The first trip was 16 days and way too short. The next four were 24-26 days in length. I booked my office hours accordingly, arranged coverage during my absence, and paid our bills ahead of time or on the road via mail. No internet, computer, or GPS; just a map, pencil, and paper. In a seven year period, Patty & I covered the lower 48 and 9 Canadian Provinces(no passports required then and we still don't have any).

She rode an '82 Honda CB900 Custom and I was on an '81 Gold Wing for the first four tours, then we upgraded to a CB 919 and ST1300.

Thanks for the invitation, but my excuse is: too old, too slow, and too much linguini in the off season.

    Happy Trails!

That was one helluva storm, that wind was crazy. Lost power Friday afternoon, it came back on yesterday afternoon. Pretty lucky, generator kept the heat and hot water going. A lot of people are far worse off.

And congrats on your retirement Doc!!!
