CRF500L build #6?

Not to be a downer but I'd saw that header apart and move the O2 sensor...and start over on the skid plate.
It's gonna collect crap on it and probably won't survive a good shot to it.
Don't get discoraged or insulted.... I had to start over on the original exhaust and I'm probably going to to it for a third time.

Can you carve out some of that hump in the exhaust? I'm not trying to be a dick.

You are at that last hurdle in the build. Fix it now or fix it later.
The exhaust is the bit that still needs figuring out.

Awesome project. It seems that honda should be putting 2 and 2 together and giving folks this great combination.

My full recommendation on fitting the pump to the new tank is bin the OE gasket and cut your own from some 4mm nitrate petrochem resist rubber, the cut-outs in the OE gasket are to match the raised studs on the steel tank and the slightest bit of over tightening will wrinkle the new plastic tank, you need an evan pull when doing up the six bolts. If you are going to use it then go easy not too tight...

Strange, i had no problems fitting mine, you just need to make sure the gasket is exactly the right way around and the hole pattern is not regular at all. Also i used the CB500 fuel pump but with the CRF float arm fitted, which is very easy to swap over.

The gasket only fits in one position to ensure the correct outlet direction. I think over tightening the bolts is easily achieved on the Chinese tank i used, the aluminium insert ring looks proper flimsy but tbh you only get that small width of sealing say 6mm/7mm to do the job. I used some well decent nitrate rubber and Wurth sealing gunge and a contact width diameter of around 35mm. That OEM gasket will crinkle the tank by its design given the slightest opportunity or there again i might just be a 'Ham fisted' spanner thug....!!!!
