yeah, that is something like the story I heard ridiculous, in a regional area - Tamworth, Singleton, Dalby etc - they should obviously concentrate on the models they sell ( dirt bikes, ag bikes / quads & so on ), rather than having EVERY model, at their own expense, some of which they may never sell . . .
Yamaha dealer in Launceston had Ducati + Can Am, lost the Yams to the dealer that has Subaru, Landrover, Mercedes, Jaguar, built a massive 2 story showroom, have heard they want to part with it. KTm dealer in Ulverstone has Polaris, Suzuki & part of the floor with sawdust spread where he has Triumphs, so multi franchise dealers still exist in Tassie.
Ride MC introduced CFMoto on the floor which made things a bit difficult with Triumph as well as Yamaha and it was decided to combine with another bike dealership to create Western Rangers MC. Of late they have been advertising all their previous brands prior to the merger. The original site now has a wide range of other brands like Sherco for example. Lots of choice down Tamworth way once again.
2014 Super Ten still on the floor because of their insane initial pricing https://www.bikesales.com.au/bikes/...200Z)-MY14/OAG-AD-16026164?id=OAG-AD-16026164 Between Yamaha and their stupid pricing and KTM and their beta testing first year there is going to be a long wait for a mid sized bike
Theres still this 15 as well. https://www.bikesales.com.au/bikes/...200Z)-MY14/OAG-AD-16063622?id=OAG-AD-16063622 Really no shortage of Yamaha unsold it seems
I made an offer on this one, trying to get transport to get it to Adelaide https://www.bikesales.com.au/bikes/...Type=[Private used bikes]))&pso=0&pss=Premium
These guys have one going cheap; https://www.ontwowheels.com.au/product/2015-yamaha-super-tenere-xtz1200/ Cheers, badmanners.
Well , in a Wollongong Yammy dealership this morning and ,,,, Me “ When’s that ..... T7 turning up “ Dealer “ Apparently 2 to 3 years” F#€K ,,, I hope he was joking ( but didn’t sound like it )
Christ, at that rate KTM will beat them to the punch and it will all be over, the next models will be being talked about. New speculation threads. It's a long slow telegraphed punch but they're going to beat them.
Yep, the market will punish Yamaha for their tardiness and they’ll deserve it. Either something went wrong (as has been suggested), or a really, really poor marketing strategy. I hope Honda quietly slips out a new Dominator and Kwaka a VX400 with 18/21 wheels while we’re waiting as well. Might need to sharpen your pencil Yammy!
A long wait for a bike in a popular segment, might help lessen teething issues. Seemingly it's taken to at least 2018 to address the Africa Twin's various glitches and for those that love the new global economy, word is by 2020 all the 790 KTM vertical twins incarnations, will be built in Hangzhou China. A slightly porky, well sorted Japan sourced Yamaha T7, might be well worth the wait. 996DL
I was thinking about this months ago ...about the tenere Tragics time and pondered the fate of a unit much desired not unlike the XTZ660 Tenere of a just a few years back. What I remeber of that period was massive speculatoin then pics then pics of real bikes then pics of overseas launches then ....blaaablaa bla and stuff. Then a 1200cc tenere appeared within twelve months of the 660cc unit. Out of the blue really. Go take a look at the time line on this forum back at that period. T7 could easily be the 660 from ...2010 or 11 ? Gen1 Supers came out in very short order.
Marketing 201 says to "Build anticipation before availability" however prolonged anticipation can turn into frustration and then apathy.
Which explains perfectly the role that terms like; "demonstrator", "old stock clearance sale", "new model hire purchase", "superceded model depreciation" and "bold new graphics", have in the marketplace... ... like Richo and others have stated elsewhere... there is nothing like the exhiliaration of that first (new) ride though...
