Who uses the Pledge polish method?

I am talking about using Pledge furniture polish to shine your bikes. My friend swears by it and honestly from what I have seen it works well.

I don't care about it on my ADV bikes but we have a few others I don't mind keeping shiny and clean once in awhile.

I've heard it works well on visors.

I used to use it to seat my tires. It was great, I could almost gorilla them on without Irons. Then one cold snowy day I spun the tube leaving a snowy patch . Good luck finding a bike shop in December, in Vermont.

I don't care to spray perfumed things on my bikes that might pique bear interest. Don't want it to tip the bike over or open the hard luggage. If you're gonna park in bear country at night, that's something to consider.

That's a pretty interesting point. I don't shine up ADV bikes though. Hell, I rarely wash them. But still I hadn't thought of the bear angle.

I know you didn't ask what everyone uses on their bikes, but this is the internet so I'm going to post anyway.
I use this stuff on my bike and helmet visors, works great at cleaning bugs. Don't buy it from Amazon though, most Wal-Marts have them in the RV section for half the price:

I use it for many things besides motorcycles including power equipment, and yard tools. In addition to being a quick and easy way to clean and protect things, it makes cleaning dirt and mud off easier.

I use the dollar store equivalent.

I use it to clean cars and trucks, the bike usually gets just water, sometimes soap if I'm feelin' froggy.

Also been using it for years. It's good enough for what I need.

Glasses, visors and the inside of cars.

I started using Pledge on my bikes (and helmet visors) after talking with a helicopter pilot who swore by it for Plexiglass windshields.

I figured the reasoning applied for the motorcycles I owned, and it does. Much easier on paint than waxes and anything with obvious abrasives in, and has the advantage of shedding dirt to some extent also.

The bikes in the motorcycle shop I part-owned at one stage looked better than our competitors’ until they followed my example.

Good point here though. Don't use the Pledge that has "Conditioners", and Wood Moisturizers" etc. They smear, and leave a hazy film unless really cleaned off (unless of course your bike is wood!). The cheap stuff at the Dollar Store is just wax, and it works great. I do the windshield before leaving for any long ride, and keep the spray wax in the saddlebag. Bugs come off easy if you use this.

I just started using the Scrubbing Bubbles/Pledge motorcycle detailing process recently. Spray off as much mud/dust as possible. Let dry. Spray and soak with Scrubbing Bubbles. Hose down. Let dry, polish with Pledge. Hardest part of the process is dragging the hose out...
Also use Pledge on my helmet visor. Visor gets done almost daily. M/C gets done when I just can't stand it an longer, every couple months.
Easy, cheap solution. My favorite thing!

I've been using Bike Spirit Spray Clleaner and Polish. Was recommended at a Ducati shop. As I was using I realized it was basically spray wax, like Pledge! Except it costs $11.

So I will probably try Pledge next.

I used it exclusively on my FJ-09 since new. Windshield, paint and plastic. It does a good job on everything. However it must not have any UV blocking properties because after two years I noticed the black plastic, of which the bike has a lot, was starting to fade ever so slightly.

So I've recently switched to using Turtle Wax Ice detailing spray and spray wax. So far I'm more than happy with the Turtle Wax stuff. I feel the bugs tend to come off the screen slightly easier, the plastic and matte finished areas have a deeper/richer color. and the shine is much better on the paint. It's just as easy to use as the Pledge was but it does cost a bit more.

Okay on clear plastic my friend used on his Honda for years and it built up a dull waxy surface I would rather use a good canauba wax twice a year and quick detailer between as a spruce up step. My windshield sees nothing but Sumner 210 scratch remover/cleaner.
