What is the feed-back on the 9T C/S 44 Tooth rear?

My second gear is my first, and my third gear is my second. Now I just wish for a 7th gear. And I can use first for some really tight stuff. I just did not want to lose 6th. Bit it is great.

Am happy with 10/44, for doing slow tight in and out of small trees and mounds on hillsides. 9/44 for me would be too low.

2015 Beta Factory 250: I've been trying it out for about 4 or 5 rides now, just playing around and haven't ridden it in any events yet. In short I like it a lot. Ignore 1st gear, 2nd gear is the new 1st gear and has about a 50% broader more usable range to cover the little stuff and some bigger stuff you might have used the stock 2nd gear for. 3rd gear is the new 2nd and feels a lot like the stock 2nd gear except with a little more boost in it.

    Other notes:

    - I'm having to retrain my clutch\throttle coordination for the really slow techy stuff but I think I can get there.

    - I had to install a longer chain. Stock is 100 links and I installed a 102 link chain. Beta makes 101 with a half link in it for the 125 and 200 but I didn't have one handy to test it out but I think it would work too.

    - My bike had the really small Beta factory chain adjuster cams on it and they were too small to adjust the longer chain so I had to get larger chain adjusters.

    - Obviously 6th gear is slower now but I'm pretty slow on the loop anyway so not a big deal for me.

    - Seems like it uses more gas.

    - I let one of the other Beta guys in the club ride mine and he was impressed enough in a short ride to want to do his as well.

The real test will be in some events but I'm a few weeks out from doing that.

I can understand changing the gearing around on the 300 as 1st feels to low and 2nd too high for me.

However on the 250 first just seems perfect to me! I don't need 2nd until things get really big or undercut.

Was on a 250 was 1st too high or too low for you?

In my case I used to be always be a second gear rider. Beta`s first gear has always been too low, and worst yet Beta has always had a bigger gap between first and second. Two years ago I severed the end of my clutch finger. It stills works, but not like it used too! This gearing really works for me.

250 Factory. Came from riding a Gas Gas. Love the Beta as that is what I used to always ride. But that damn low first gear. If you noticed my son just got a TRS, and the gearing is tall too. I might change brands, but making the clutch work as good as my clutch would be about impossible. I made the clutch on my Beta the lightest I have ever felt due to my damaged finger. By the way I like the 250.

Interesting, I wouldn't ever think 1st was too low.

However now I'm thinking/wondering if the Factory's have different internal gearing? I haven't ridden a standard 300 lately, but every 300 factory I ride feels like it's geared way lower than my standard 250. Now I'm thinking the difference isn't the 250 to 300, it might be standard vs Factory.

Not really a concerning situation, but a question, Has anyone ever noticed a loose sound from the clutch?, when in neutral , at idle, with clutch lever out(engaged), when motor fully warmed up. I know this is the clutch, and am thinking it is the push rod and the radial bearing (for lack of better term) just jingling around in there, makes sense as there is not any pressure on it when plates engaged. Running ATF.
Or has the rod tip got some wear on it to lessen its length by a few thousandths, just enough to get this noise to increase a bit. Has any one ever replaced this bearing and/or rod? Again , not that big of an issue, as the noise, is some times there and sometimes not there. Will take look, as it is an easy task. 2016 Beta evo 300 factory, have done the clutch plate epoxy plate scrape. And everything on bike is working fine.
  12. Yes, they all sound like a bag of bolts, even new . Normal .

I have a 16 300 that since new has had a problem with the float needle sticking.
And am now to the point that I am considering a new carb.
So since I am happy with the way the bike runs, should I buy a stock carb or is there a better carb that is plug and play?
My last option on this carb is to change the float setting( it is correct now) to lower the fuel level in the bowl.
If I understand correctly lowering the fuel level will have the affect of leaning the mixture.
How much can I lower the level without affecting the jetting?

That’s the way my float is set.
I may try to mess with the height slightly
I have had the carb off so many times I am getting pretty good at it.
For what it’s worth, the quick fix is to turn off the fuel and ride it till the engine almost dies then turn the fuel back on.
The float unsticks and the needle will seal for a minute or the next ride or two.

Do you have a fuel filter on the bike? I have seen this problem where there is crap in an Evo tank that the petcock filter doesn't catch and it keeps messing up the needle and seat.

I agree there is nothing wrong with first on the 4 stroke, but first has always been too low on the 2 stroke. I will probably buy a TRS next if I can make the clutch work. tat seems the bike at the moment.

Yea I put a filter on right away
My bike new had a bunch of metal debris in the tank and I am pretty sure I have that all cleaned out
What gets me jacked up is that the bike will be fine for a month or two then dribble a couple time each ride for a couple of weeks then be fine for a couple months

It’s all personal preference. Ray Peters would tell you that first gear works fine, and you should open the throttle more.
