oh, and NC208 has new guard rails. Seriously, wtf is that??? This road has a lot of bikes, fingers crossed nobody lowsides and hits the end or any of that posts
last Friday I played hooky again and hitched a ride with @kennyanc and PJ destination: still messing around with the carb (@ @NC Rick: "I don't need no stinkin' man" aka plug looks great now) obligatory food pic.... and if you ever been to the RDV, you know my go-to camp-meal Saturday: Observed Trials and Kenny at his new favorite past time ... @wawarides Graham... he's in a different league some quick repairs between the loops Kenny's score card... and "someone" else this should not have happened... somebody clearly signed up for the wrong line Truth be told, this being my first event I figured I need to learn the trail etiquette, how to get around and announce your line without pissing off anybody. ahrma results: moy 15/21 clean Kenny 44/9 clean - which is really good for that line I didn't get a pic of the AMC results (you had to pick one or the other) - overall there were 37 riders happy campers! (pic from later that day)
I don’t remember specifying a “Man”... be careful there girl, nobody can be good at “everything “, at least I thought. First place AND a clean carburetor, damn! Looks like you folks had a grand time! Awesome.
We took advantage of the open course in the afternoon and I practiced on the 3 line... I can't lie I need to work on my confidence - and that afternoon was really valuable. Some of the sections were easy to me, but the ones that drop down over rocks needed a few tries before I felt ok to keep up the right speed. and @kennyanc told me not to post any embarrassing pics... yeah, well (this was after the second steep muddy step) and this was pretty much the last turn I tried... somehow my throttle felt a bit odd the last few tries see the scratch mark on the trees? My throttle body got loose and I whiskey throttled into the first tree and used the second one to stop the bike
I wish I would be really good at anything besides logistics Everything else seems half-ass and rushed lately.... I need to slow down and concentrate on less things. The trials riding seems pretty good for that, the bike is simple to work (I clearly have a thing for old school), it's competition - but mostly against "myself" and previous runs. And it's relatively safe ... unless you look at the finger I stubbed into the tree
more pics from the weekend: Speedy kicking out the cob-webs and getting ready for Flat Track Speedy Sunday thank you @wawarides for the bacon! crazy amount of classes the rest of the pics are there And thank you Kenny and PJ for letting me be the 3rd wheel - again
The thing about Trials is it really is pushing your limits, not having to beat the competition, at least at this level. I always found my fellow competitors to be helpful and friendly, we often walked the sections together and discussed lines and problems. Then there's camping out and partying afterwards. I always enjoyed the ITSA events. Often there would be camping and music around the campfire. Glad you're enjoying the sport, hope to see more success in the future.
Dammit woman, he was leading Aldana and could've had a commemorative pic of it, and you can't even tell who either of them are. And I need to choose between chipmunk cheeks but my wrinkles being fluffed out vs going on a diet and looking older and wrinkly. What a choice! We had a great weekend with you guys!
ditto - and trust me I tried to get better pics, but he was just too fast and PSA (totally unappropriated for the day-trippin' area): if you are in the US and you are allowed to vote, please do! I hate sitting on the sidelines....
There are no better friends than my friends. Period. And we are planning next year already (and apparently short track dates only have now trials too). Plus the two rallies.... so much to slowing down.
NOOO! not you, I know how you vote j/k are ya near AVL on Black Friday? We are gonna have our annual ride again (gravel/street)...
that's right , I vote the right way probably not, we do a turkey day dinner at deer camp that night but we'll see
@lgajohnymac finally posted some of his wedding pictures from June not the most flattering pic for any of us...but it sums it up nicely
