I thought I had one in my notes somewhere but it isn't there, so here's a few I have found searching just now. If I remember the one that should have been in my notes, I'll post it up.

    https://advrider.com/f/threads/ktm690-oil-cooler.1023449/

"KTM makes an oil cooler for the 690 SMC that can be adapted with a bit of fabrication/bracket to fit the Enduro."

I have to redo it because I can’t find the way to avoid the heat efectively. I isolate it in different ways but it allways crack the pipe due to extrem heat. I’m going to try on top of thebash plate support. Next week I’ll put some pictures

I forget how exactly I came across the kit690 website, but since then, I have bought a 2018 KTM 690, and really look forward to buying this kit. Having found this thread, its awesome to see where the kit came from and how its been made. Really stoked for someone to hurry up and buy my KLR so I have the funds to order my own kit690 for adv riding and hobby rally racing.

Just read trough everything about kit690’s. Like many I am considering downsizing from a 950, specifically the 950 Super Enduro. As I am looking into selling the SE and finding a lightly used 690. Are there any specific years that this kit does not work on? Any years that work better? I am thinking that the kit690 is the prefect bike for off-road travel!

Would someone direct me to the hack on wiring the low beam light so that it stays on when the high beam is switched on.

    Thanks, Max

Also I need some info on the fuel filter needed for the pump in the front rally tank.
In the parts fitch the prefilter (bag) looks similar to the ones on the 990A .
Has anyone changed these out .

    Awesome thread !
I had few hours to lose, so I finally went through this 60 pages thread !
I've placed order for my Kit690 and I'm like a child waiting for Christmas...very looking forward to race and travel with this kit !

This build thread is very interesting because we can see research and development from Jon on this project.
His approach using RFR parts has been such a good idea than now, others are doing the same (Perfect Fairing).

Good to see how he's been able to use his skills (architect, traveller and motorcycle enthusiast) to build one of the best kit on the market !

Thanks for that I built a similar configuration . Used two 90 degree QR's from PowerCell Performance .
Spent time adjusting the skid mounting plate to maximize clearance from the pipe . Did some pipe wrap in
strategic areas and used tubing heat shield .

Increased the distance between the pipe and the gas line from fuck all to about 20mm.

By routing the gas line under the SP mount I maximized the space to the exhaust pipe and the line has slack
enough to not put and stress on the QR's .

Riding a very remote route through the Sierra Madre Mountains in eastern Sonora , western Chihuahua , Copper Canyon , through Durango and exploring further South .
Mostly dirt , rugged mountain roads, big rivers .
I've been working on this route for years riding some of it and more new unridden areas this time.
A really gnarly adventurer should be able to Ride the CDR from Banff through the US and connect to this route
deep into Mexico . Somewhere in the 5 to 6 thousand K range I think . I'll be riding the full route in September

2C56295C-F095-4D38-8765-868B9E04E1D6.jpeg I have built a 690 with Kit690....its. great kit and Jon and his team are also great....But I recently built a new Husqvarna 701 Enduro using a kit from ADV-Nomad, I hate to say it but for several reasons I like the ADV- Nomad kit better.

I copy the image from my google pics and paste here . I've had some say the same thing but others can see them.
Any suggestions on what the issue is would be appreciated .

I thought it might be that. The only way I know to make sure everyone sees an image is to directly upload it to the thread using the ("Upload Pic or GPS Track" button on the lower right). That eliminates the hosting issues that sometimes pop up. It also avoids the issue of dead links if you ever change sites. Having said that, I'm not suggesting that you should do that specifically for me, but it does correct the issue and preserves the images in the threads.
