Thomaston Dam, that brings back some memories. It was an hour and a half drive north for me when I lived back east. I remember thinking how lucky I was to have a place to legally ride off road "so close". Now I'm a spoiled brat with great off road riding just minutes away. Had lots of fun there.

my new BM would just sail through there no problems at all.. :D

you can tell by it's design and slim shape, stuff like that wont be a problem for me on the BM.. :lol3

it's so skinny and smoothly shaped, if you look straight on at my BM you'd swear it was just a stick.. :imaposer

    Funny you mention that..
    I have been thinkin..

I tend to go male names and first letter of brand or model..
    Henry the Harley
    Derek the DR
My last car an XR Falcon was called Fred

Female would be Betsy or Bessie..
    But i need male..
    Or neutral..

Would it be wrong to call my new Beemer - Brisket..
    Mmmm.. :dukegirl

Butch is a touch "butch" for me.. i nearly need to de-butch the beemer
Butch also has female overtones or undertones, not sure which, i cant keep up with all the PC madness.. :dunno
and i also think of Butch Vig which doesn't help. :drums

    My last beemer was Boris..
Boris did what he was told then i got bored and sold him..

I recently visited the nearest BMW and Triumph boutique, sitting on a few bikes whilst there...including the new 1250, natch. I want to like the model, but I continue to be put off, a bit, by its sheer width (vis-a-vis the bike's mission brief) when viewed from the front.

Visions of Daisy laying on her side, off road, are not encouraging.

i have no illusions of what it is, despite what the sales brochures might tell me.
it's the goldwing of easy dirt for an ageing man and i'm ok with that.
a street bike that can handle some dirt, to compliment a DR.

when i was getting impatient i started looking at even more road orientated bikes, but the GSA weighs less than a new huyabusa and is more comfortable.
the ktm790 was on the more dirt orientated list, but i realised a GSA could add more to my riding spectrum with the bikes i have.

i see another for nod Daisy as a name.. :thumb :D

i'm used to a DR with a safari and the weight of a harley.
i can see how it could be off putting for many folks.
it is a big leap into the world of wide from a regular DR.
but it all falls to the wayside for me when i wind on all that torque. :-) :-) :-)

the DR is way more competent to go anywhere in aus - i've done that.
this is a big ticket luxury item, to help me forget about my day to day life.
totally not needed, but f#ck it, lifes riding time is way too short.

    edit..
i bet you flat footed it as well.. :lol3 :baldy
