Took delivery of my orange 790 on Thurs and managed to get in 100 kms of riding before the weather turned to crap (winter here), so not much riding yet.

The 790 sits in the garage alongside my 3yo KTM 1050 which I really love and won't be selling for quite a while.

Are there any other 790 owners out there, surely I'm not the only person in the world to own one ???

Thanks for your enlightened comment Florida Lime, no doubt you are a wise and experienced motorcyclist, it was silly of me to think that having owned and ridden over 40 motorcycles in my time that I could be as wise as yourself, my apologies for being such a nooob. :D

Yes the above link is about the 790 but it was started before the bike was released and talks about what the bike MAY be like and also whinges about KTM in general so not really applicable to owners, whereas this thread is for riders that have actually purchased a 790 to discuss the bike.

If every bike was limited to only one single thread as your reply states then why are there dozens of threads for each make of bike, I think perhaps you are the nooob.

Have a nice day sunbeam. :imaposer

    Getting mine soon...

Have you installed a GPS on the bracket above the TFT screen? If so did you need to order the KTM bracket

Thinking really hard about getting one. Can't make up my mind between this and a Street Triple RS 765.

For me, 790 or 1090? A Multistrada would be nice but, it seems to be a lot more expensive at this point.

    Multi at ~$20K~$22K?
    KTM 1090 at ~$14K
    KTM 790 ? What's real-world pricing?

Have you talked to Mrs Aerone about that?

I believe we also have the matter of a certain older British single needing restoration.

If you're cool with answering, did the dealer go lower than $10499 MSRP and how bad were the setup/delivery BS fees? Thanks.

No deal. That was at MSRP. Tax, title and license was about 2K. I am actually about to email them to see if I can get a detailed description sent to me. I am currently working on the other side of the world but I am almost fully convinced on putting a deposit so I can pick it up right after I get home here in two weeks.

I paid MSRP plus about $500 in freight/prep plus sales tax back in December. In some ways I find the bike to be more of a “Beast” than the 1290, which I have also owned. So easy to maneuver and the engine is so compelling that it can be...er, dangerous to your right to operate a motor vehicle if you don’t show some restraint!

Looking for a KTM, Ridersville Cycle, Berkley Springs, WV, talk to Harold, no affiliation just know he likes to deal and I’m pretty sure no freight or prep.
