The Fast Ace stuff is actually really good. I have the FA stuff on my GPX full sized bike and it has been good. A pain to service, but works good
Ok good to know i never seen any of that stuff or looked especially. I have noticed some makes of Chinese seem better equipped but do not seem to be different in price. I can not work out how they price up these bikes sometimes. ATVs are the same scenario, its hit and miss on quality do the research i superpose look at the finer points of the spec if you can find any spec that is. The vertical singles 125 150 and 200ccs with push rod engines seem reliable the Mistang 150ccs that are all over mongolia and such places use this engine. These have normal clutch and would be a good engine in my opinion if you can get one in that frame.
China makes great stuff. Phones, machines, etc. We handed them the keys to empire and they took them and ran. They even own our debt.
The Zong 190 2-valve looks good and is the only 5 speed I've seen in this engine configuration. It's not exactly cheap either.
So true, but I couldn't "Like" that! I'd rather we make our own, or at least deal with countries whose stated goal isn't to surpass the US as the world superpower. But this situation is kind of like Google at this point. We're just stuck with it. I'm sure the bike will function well. And if they have spare parts availability, should be maintainable.
My bike arrived yesterday after a month long weight. I can see now why dealers charge a $600 prep fee! Engine weighs 40lbs. Same as my GG Pro. Frame as shown in photo weighs 60 lbs More weight reduction can be made by removing kickstand, aluminum rims, pegs, kickstart, brake, shifter, axle spacers, rear brake bracket. Some weight will have to be added for a skidplate. It looks like a 18" rear tire will fit but a bigger engine would probably be needed. These motors cost $300 in a crate, so they are almost disposable. I bet a Honda Grom EFI engine will fit.
A flying eagle! I was going to fab a poly skid plate aka cutting board with matching color What did you pay for the eagle?
That is the same bike as the one I had imported. No branding on mine, but it has the Time stunt logo on the parts. I am stuck on the rear wheel/brake assembly right now. I can’t seem to come up with a spacer configuration that works smoothly.
Chad, are your forks the same? Oh, and did you get any documentation and a certificate of origin (in case you need to plate it)?
Mine are Fast Ace, but look pretty much the same. If motodojo got his from Orion then it’s a no brainer. $959 is an incredible value.
On a 150cc vertical single china dirt bike we have here, the rear wheel spacer has a very slight taper on one side, if you put it square shoulder to the bearing side it overloads the bearing float and is rough. i know this because i mended a puncture about 6 months ago and being in a rush i missed the taper, but feeling the harshness i checked and turned the spacer round then was fine. Not saying its same on yours but have a closer look, not a lot of taper but it is there if its like ours here.
A tuning fork decal below the filler cap would have people scratching their heads! Is that one of Pitster's 140 engines on the floor? Also, are the Fast Ace legs sprung on one side like the others?
The differences I see from mine, which I bought from Shi Pao for $1200 is yours as a battery holder, different seat cover and nicer looking anodized parts: triple clamp, handlebar clamp. You got aluminum rims? Mine are steel. I have the same blue anodized parts behind the number plate and under the seat. I like your blue since I have a couple of YZs but I am going to go with all black and put some FX125 graphics on it. I am pretty sure my engine was installed at one time and ran through the gears from some markings and soot in the exhaust. And it looks like real motor oil in it.
My bike would have had the 190 2valve Zong with electric start if the EPA would have allowed it. That is why the battery box is there. Yes my wheels are aluminum. I sorted out the rear wheel. I had to drill a spacer from 13mm to 15mm. It would fit over the threads, but bind on the axle. No big.
