On my Billy brake light. I hooked up the yellow wire and not the red wire for power. Now the light almost matches the tail light when not on the brakes. Now my friends don’t give me a hard time when they’re following behind me!
It's interesting you mention that. When I wrote and explained my issue with the product, the way they responded made it sound like I had an older design where 10% was still rather bright. Just like slow brought up, I was told from CW directly "...you can swap use the Yellow wire from the BILLIE instead of the Red, it will give you a lower output."
Yep, nice job boys. Using the yellow now matches the OEM light perfectly. It also affected the max output so I bumped that UP by 10% as well. Looks great!
Clearwater really should print that in their instruction manual. I was about to take mine off till I found out about the yellow wire
Agreed. They don't have to say "Hex" anywhere, but they sold the light so why not support all of their customers, not just those electing to use their CANopener. A note or electrical diagram would suffice.
Only if you think you need them. For most people the OEM is fine. Chinese levers on eBay...stay away...
Depends. Some love them, some dont. I just like the feel of the two finger levers, have them on all my bikes since I can remember.
Just be carefull of the cell phone holder on the bars. On my second ride my iPhone camera packed up. The lens broke loose because of vibration. Most phones wont handle it.
So far no issues with about 1k on the odometer since using. Usually I only mount for longer rides but so far so good!
Side-burn: What will you be using to attach the bag, and what will you be attaching it to? Nice looking bike!
Thanks! I love it. I have a Black Dog Cycle Works pillion rack as well as a Touratech pillion rack. The BDCW rack bolts in place of the passenger seat so it can hold a lot of weight. The latter is much more useful day to day as it quickly comes off just like the pillion seat with the key. I’ll post picks of the Touratech this weekend. For attaching I use either Rox bungee straps which are awesome or the Kreiga comes with straps for something more solid for long trips or stacking.
BMW Motorrad, adjustable foot peg. Unnecessary for my riding, but when I saw them in the shop, I had to have them. They're black! They are expensive, but well built and highly functional. The rubber insulated peg for road riding is nice and standing for dirt roads really does bite. For how i will use the bike, these are perfect. The stock position is great for me, but they have 2 more lower levels if needed. I wished they made a set for the passenger too! [/QUOTE] I’ve been going back and for about these footpegs ever since I got my new GSA and I just can’t decide if they’re worth it. I’m kind of a giant at 6’5” 230 lbs so the adjustability is a what I really want. The spring loaded rubber part is cool but I’m wondering if you really notice that much difference in use? I’ve handled them in person and there’s no doubt they are of the highest quality. I didn’t hold them up next to mine but I’m pretty sure they’re the same size as the OEM GSA pegs, so it’s not like I’m getting a noticeable size change. I guess I’m just hesitant to drop $325 on them when all I really get is the ability to drop them down a little. Having said that, not every upgrade has to be ‘necessary’ right?
I'm 6'2". I scoffed at the cost initially as well but after a long ride they were mandatory for me. It's not a huge change but was appreciated combined with the seat height adjustment.
Yeah I have my seat in the highest position already and after a ride yesterday with my new boots I noticed I felt slightly bunched up. Nothing super uncomfortable but enough to notice. People might not think something as simple as footwear would have a noticeable impact but is sure does. Dropping the pegs that 3/4” or so might be just the ticket. Thank you for your input. I’m both pleased and annoyed...pleased that my prediction is being confirmed, yet annoyed that I’m most likely going to drop another $300+.
Yea it’s a bit painful but at least the “you get what you pay for” will hold true. Are they worth $300, hard to say but they are very nice. Honestly one thing I did notice was the rubber foot. It really lessens vibration and I wear Sidi Adventure 2 boots! Then, standing they actually do bite, so it isn’t a gimmick. I’ve not adjusted them as I’m only 6’ but the adjustments are solid and won’t move if you do.
If you have to justify the spending to your CFO (aka spousal unit), I'd call that necessary and safety increasing farkles - no one ever objects to safety add-ons...
Touratech Pillion Rack In addition to my BDCW version I picked this up as well. For day-to-day I like the ability to take it off and use a passenger seat or vise versa. The BDCW is reserved for rare heavy cargo. While I like the solid mount, I don't like having to unscrew the bolts too often as they are tapped into the chassis directly and it's not very convenient to access my Hex . I'd love to see BDCW add an option that works similarly as they build great stuff and I would love to support a USA company. @BlackDogCycleWorks I'll be a beta tester if needed Overall I love the look, build quality and fitment of the Touratech. It is solid, doesn't move an inch and will work for carrying my laptop, hardware/grocery store bags, beer, Kreiga US-20/10 bags and other stuff.
