Nova Scotia has a dual sport riders FB page, not sure about NB and PEI. Most of the ride are organized there. There have been attempts to get the masses together, but so far, no deal. The Fundy Adventure Rally is as close as it comes. Maybe we need to get together for stories and refreshments at the FAR.

While I am from neither of the 3 provinces listed I do end up in them most years as leaving The Rock requires some traversing. You may be familiar with the ferry. I met you and your dad at Atlantic Motoplex on your return from Ontario when I was headed south. I was on my 02 GSA but have a Big Ruckus and a 955Tiger and others.
Word around here is you are looking for farkles for your latest purchase. We should chat.

I'll chime in here. Western NB here, up the Saint John River Valley. Been riding my '83 R100RT most of the summer since the R1200GS succumbed to the dreaded final drive failure and is on the lift currently with it's arse hanging out. I do enjoy a game of "I wonder where THAT road goes?"

Been there with my 1100 and a final drive total meltdown, was no fun but took it as an opportunity to upgrade to RT gearing. Really helped the 5 speed out on the ol girl.
Loved my 81 R100RT that I use to have (pulled the fairings in the hot months) . One bike I actually looked up the new owner and offered to buy back. Needless to say he has my number.

NB does have a DS riders page on FB and a www.

Also an association NBDRA. Riding is more oriented to trails and small bike but there is an active DS crowd that does a lot of exploring I think the current project is developing a trail loop around the province.

Okay, I'll ask, did you just reuse the headlight bucket and relocate the ignition switch/remove the spider or did you have a dedicated bucket? I've been collecting the parts slowly to run the RT nekid when, not if, the original fairing finally succumbs to the brittle problem. Already have a couple repairs on it. So far, AFAIK I'm missing the turn signals and associated bits (mounting arms, rubbers, etc) and trying to figure out what to do with the light bucket. Had an arm break off the headlamp "spider" this spring. Local roads are rough.....

Had an R100 bucket/signals and key setup I got online somewhere. Set of low bars and end mirrors and she was good

It's called the Fundy Adventure Rally ... :)

Others have tried other gatherings but no inter-provincial meet-up has lasted. NS does have some good in-province meet-ups, and NB used to, but no more.

Meet up every Thursday evening, though more small bike trail rides. If you go not eh NBDSC page look for inmate rarepartsbuilder, they ride DS exploring type rides a fair amount. Not suitable for big adventure bikes mind you.

Honestly, I've checked in at NBDSC once in a while and it just doesn't seem to have the action there it had 10 years ago. Maybe I'm just jaded.

I think I met rarepartsbuilder in the Sackville McD's parking lot last week.

There is more of a small bike trail, hare scramble scene here as of late, but I don't disagree there isn't as much activity on the forum as before but reach out to folks can give you a sense of what's going on, like the trip to NL happening now with 1/2 doz riders.

It's my first motorcycle, and it does everything I have asked of it, so far!

Although my trip here was pushing it a bit: I loaded it like a KLR 650 and rode it like a sport touring bike (1639 KM in 3 days with not much sleep) as I was trying to get to the Stan Rogers folk festival. I was on schedule to make the final night, but overloaded and overtired, front-tire washed out on some gravel, at about 10 km/h. Nothing major, but my throttle was jacked from an earlier drop, and by the time I fixed it again, I was toast, and the place I am staying at was about 5 min down the road. Called it a night.

Looking forward to exploring more of the province, and with a much lighter load!
