Kinda wondering if you guys are offroading with shorter levers? Find it hard to get used to the 2/1 finger clutch control, i really need to focus on it else im 4 fingering ( :p ) the lever and was thinking that a shorter lever might make it a little easier.

My clutch lever bent and snapped at the break point.
Up to that point I had to 4finger , if I used two fingers I found the lever would stop on the two fingers and clutch wouldn't fully engage.
Unstable riding with four fingers on clutch lever and not gripping the bar properly

I don't have an issue with the front brake lever mind you.

But definitely recommend short lever for the clutch if you have a similar issue to me

@Koen MidWest Mountain Engineering shorty clutch lever highly recommended!
Not cheap but they transform clutch feel and operation...

funny... just put a set of MME shorties on my 350 a few minutes ago..... was thinking these would be great on the 990. Definitely easier clutch pull....

Likewise @oldfuddy , the MME levers are the best thing for pairing with hydro clutches... have same on both the 640 and 950, joy!

They look nice indeed, but before i have it here in Europe the price will almost be twice as high. Shipping, import tax etc etc.

Like many have done before... stick the knob end in a vice and break it off at the indent. If you have TIG welding gear you can then blitz a blob end and file / shape to suit :)
    Cheap and it works.

I run a short clutch lever from one of the MX models, but I now can't remember whether this will fit the stock master cylinder or only the newer ones (which I've retrofitted). That said, there might be an equivalent older short one from an MX bike that'll work.

    @Tobey That's a bugger!

Maybe MME might do another run if the numbers are there in a 'group buy'. ..

I did a little more digging, I was actually looking at Slavens that says they aren't available. The MME website doesn't say they are out, however it also doesn't say much about shipping to Aus.

aus as in Austria or Australia?

    MME levers are the bestest!!

Money is only money and easily forgotten (lost from partners eyes...) MME 1st class... The vice method, 3rd Class!

@Tobey Back in 2017, shipping was $34USD. Our peso is .68 now, was .73 then... They are worth it though :)

Well the vice trick worked well for me last night and did well on the ride to work. MME's are on the to-do list for sure.

There's only two types of Magura clutch pumps: series 163 and series 167. For both standard or short levers are available.
The mighty 990/950 use a 163 series and levers look like the ones in the above picture with the red knob.

If you look closely you can see there's a gibbosity that is needed to engage the clutch switch (under the zip tie in the upper lever). Some levers come without it.

The throw can be adjusted to less than stock through two separate adjusters if preferred.
