Could be that too. Or wires. Or, less likely, an injector problem. I'll give it fresh plugs because it needs them regardless and go from there.
Never torqued a spark plug. Just crushed the washer and stopped when the torque spiked. Lube or no lube didn't matter.

Airing down* in Moab last week. Dog on guard: *I’ve got to get more adventurous with airing down. On the road I’m up around 45 psi and when I “air down” I only go down to around 30 psi, which soften the ride a bit but I think sort of misses the point. Next time I’m going to get bold and go down to 20 psi. From what I’ve read you can drop into the single digits before you have to worry about popping a bead. These tires are 235/85/16s for reference.
Run 34 on the road and 18-20 off. Why are you at 40 on road? That has to ride and handle like shit. Dealer tech set my wife's tires at 45 ish once, it was sliding in the rain on curves.
The tires on my jeep are so big and my compressor so small, that I'd be more than an hour refilling the tires. Think I need a portable high volume compressor.
Responding to my own post. I needed something in a hurry so went to harbor freight and bought another scissor jack which also failed on me. WTF? My luck I will get my first ever flat.
A man like you needs a good pump. I’ve got a Viair 300P which does the job on my tires with capacity to spare. They make one, the 450P, that has a 100% duty cycle so you could use it to inflate a blimp.
Yeah, the kit comes in a nice little bag with the pump, long leads to clamp to a battery, and a nice air hose/chuck. I like the idea of inflating a blimp. Be a good advertisement.
My JKUR tire pressure monitor was set to a minimum of 38 psi. Lowering it to 27 psi made it handle much better. Probably because it doesn't have the floppy tires anymore, now it has 8 ply LT's.
