How old is the bike? How many miles on it? How was it maintained?

BMW never said the R1200/R1250 or any other boxer is a "YZ-250" or enduro machine. If you made that mistake comrade...u b at felt here! lol

It's an mostly-road adventure bike and anyone who knows BMWs knows that. The F650/750/800/850 are designed with a beating in mind...full two-sided swingarms, 525 double-o-ring chains, twin parallel motors, steel frames [emoji23][emoji12]

I get it brother but I had a KLR650 and will always love that TRACTOR.

It's true...some of the huge R1200s had issues up to the 2016 model year. Same goes for any bike. Peeps forget ya gotta pick the right tool ferr the right yob!

Datz da problem! I honestly can't see whats wrong. Mystery metals that look like needle bearing. But bike ran fine. Am I nuts? (yes) An idiot? (also yes)

Only obvious problem is the kick starter gear is missing an tooth, that is operator error from this guy ( @Yinzer Moto learn to take responsibility for your breaking shit like role model for this @Mow-ree) Just put it back together??? I'z iz lost

6 years old at the time of all of these failures. 90,000 miles. It had 2 final drive failures before all of this. It was maintained per the manual and best fluids were used. It was ridden on asphalt and nice gravel that any car could drive on.

My GG has a missing tooth on the kicker tuu, I just lived with it as is. Since yours is apart, does Rising Sun Imports have one for you?

The bigger question is to ignore the metal, it seems unlikely that its metal from the kick start gear, at least some of it looks like a needle.
