Our site is linked to inventory, at one point almost everything was out of stock...it depends the day. We have stock for now. Woof!e
China, I had no idea what to expect. I literally showed up to the factory. It is an incrediblebly dynamic place. The people are very open and friendly. The food is amazing. I grew up in South America so I was prepared for the culture shock. One thing that is wild is that it is now a cashless society. All done through the smart phone. Google doesn't work if you use wifi but does when using phone data... Sorry I forgot to send a postcard. I kinda wanted to keep this project under wraps. I'll send a post card from the other side of the world next time. Woof!e
Ok, ok, I get it... Actually in our second trip we flew out of Hong Kong. As we went through immigration and got to the gate, protesters just started filling up the airport.... So next visit......key chain or candy bar???? Woof!e
Any plans for a new small tank bag? I have the Blackhawk and Explorer Lite. The Lite is on my rear rack, and the Blackhawk is too big for my xr650L tank. Thanks.
Oh yeah, we have the Enduro size in Waterproof as well as a waterproof Tin Cup. We have options. Woof!e
Believe me I get it. When there is no infrastructure here...... Even cut and sew is difficult not enough people know how to industrial sew. Woof!e
I get it , as a small business owner China eventually comes into play if you want to grow. But it's kinda a gut punch for some of us. I've spent a ton of money on Wolfman gear and never once had a defect. Although I ride a sportbike , I travel a lot and require gear that will stand up to heavy miles and being flogged around, something traditional sport bike bags just can't do. Will the entire line go to China ? Are the large rollies in yellow still the US ones?
I get it. Yes the entire line is in China now. Our current products are on sale and will be on Black Friday etc. I appreciate the quality comment. That is the reason I went and set up production. My main goal was quality first. While at the IMS show this past weekend country of origin hardly came up. Many were impressed with the feel and quality before the country of origin came up. I could write volumes on this subject after 27 years in the business. Thank you for your comments and taking time to write them. Woof!e
I get it, kinda, but as a customer I'd rather have the previous line made next door in Colorado than the new product made in China. I'm sure you'll do very well in your ventures because many customers don't care at all about country of origin, but as a small business owner myself who has been unemployed on more than one occasion due to outsourcing I simply cannot and will not consider a future purchase, not as long as there are other companies still making a good product in the US. It pains me to say it, especially since I have been a huge cheerleader for Wolfman products over the years and promote them to my students in the MSF classes every weekend in the summer. It is with complete sincerity that I wish you the absolute best going further, I'm sure the new line will do well.
I am really excited to see the new line up. My E-10s have served me well for nearly 10 years. I really like the old enduro duffle bag and I can't live without the number plate bag. I use the expedition duffle bag all the time. Everything has exceeded my durability expectations. Thank yoy. Hopefully the USA manufacturing infrastructure will modernize and become great again. You are not the only company I know that was forced overseas because that is where modern factories and skilled labor are.
Appreciate the transparency about the new line. I’ve bought many Wolfman products over the years, and the fact the items were manufactured in the USA kept me brand loyal, not to mention the quality of the gear. Though I can understand the need to move production, perhaps there truly was no other options, its really unfortunate that Wolfman is no longer USA made.
The top two questions we would get at a rally are: Will this fit my bike and is it waterproof? I hated making rain covers. To make a truly Waterproof cover was way to expensive and no one would purchase it. So I wanted truly Waterproof RF bags. There are a few RF welding companies in the US mostly for medical supply putting 2 layers of plastic together and welding it. Like an IV bag. Only 3 manufactures that I know of can do 3 dimensional products. Out of the 3, 2 only make for themselves. We used the only contract RF welder for a while. So to create the next level of Wolfman it ment going overseas. I had some personal conflict about going abroad. This change was not easy at all, yet learning all we have learned and are continuing to learn has been very rewarding. To make this new line we exhausted every option we had to keep this here in the US, in the end, well we had to go overseas. Now, the Designer and creative side of me is Super Excited to use all this new technology in new designs and products. I did not know some of the machinery we use existed. Woof!e
When will we see printing and be able to buy? I bought an Enduro bag the first year they came out and it’s finally close to time to put it out to pasture.
Some industries just can not compete without outsoursing to Asia. The cost of Of labor has such a burden for overhead, taxes, vacation, unions, benefits...can not compete. My Software costs $200 an hour to develope in the USA, and $10 an hour in India. I could have closed, but Survived still employing 30 employees versus shutting down. Good on Wolfman for being straight up. Some Of My bestshear Is Wolfman. There biggest asset is design and warranty. Almost all motorcycle luggage is made some where overseas. 70% of all waterproof tarps are coming from Vietnam.
Just a thought here. I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm a patriotic, USA loving, made in America guy, but how many of you that won't buy Wolfman products if they aren't made in USA ride a foreign made motorcycle or drive a foreign car, etc.? I tend to buy what I think is the best product for the money no matter where it is made. I'm 61 years old, so I can remember the struggle I had when I had to consider a Japanese car because the quality of USA made vehicles was just not nearly as good. I will likely purchase Wolfman products in the future if they meet my criteria. If I can find a comparable product at a similar price made in the USA, I will probably go with made in USA. I believe Wolfman is correct when they say some manufacturers just can't be found in the US that meet the company's requirements. I wish Wolfman all the best and look forward to the new products.
I also prefer made in USA when I can get it, but the new Wolfman stuff is NICE. I have a couple of 303 rollies as well some stuff from another major USA luggage manufacturer, and the new Wolfman stuff is nicer, and it looks and feels higher end.
