FedEx says Monday for me too, although I won't be able to install until the following weekend, as the bike still resides at the cabin property... :dunno

Got mine today so plan to install tomorrow. Looks fairly simple but I cannot find any installation instructions either in the box or online. Hope I can figure it out! They have a PDF online but it is not for the 790r.

Installed the R/G screen. Pretty straightforward. Took about 45 minutes. One small issue with the bracket that fixes the screen to the oem GPS pedestal: bolt holes are too small to use the oem shoulder screws. Rade includes flange head screws so not a big deal. I thought about opening up the holes but decided to go with it as is. Will report back on how well it works. 30FEB333-BEB7-488A-B1BE-D7E0B01E31EC.jpeg

Anyway, above are some pics. Some notes. If you are going to install the plastic guard around the outside edges of the screen, do it before mounting the screen. Don't ask me how I know:) The rubber washers have one adhesive side. I think that you stick these washers on the inside of the windscreen. If you do multiple removals and installations of the screen they can start to fall off. Just be aware. Also the easiest way to get the rubber inserts through the bracket holes is to thread in a screw and pull them through. My Vanasche motorsports GPS bracket worked fine with the screen so I did not end up using any of the GPS mounting hardware supplied with the screen. Sorry if I am stating the obvious to a lot of inmates, but I am trying to explain stuff to riders down at my level:)

    R/G windscreen quick review. The
Rade screen is about the same height as the stock R screen in the high position. Top edge is about level with the middle of my sternum when seated. At 60-65 mph, there is considerable wind noise and some buffeting. Noise is somewhat less if I duck down a bit. Adding an Xcreen Sport significantly quieted it down in the same speed range, quieter than the stock screen in the high position topped with the Xcreen. Wearing an Arai RX-Q, for reference. I’m pretty intolerant of wind noise, and this may be good enough. I plan to go for a longer ride tomorrow. Will update then. 811B056F-8769-4B68-A055-0F3A85D774E8.jpeg

That is a shame to spend 200$ on a windscreen that doesn’t sound any better then stock. I was hoping to be convinced to buy one.

What doesn’t work for me may work for others. I had high expectations for the Rade screen to work right out of the box. But if adding a spoiler pushes it over the finish line I’m okay with it.

As inseam affects seat height choice, as does torso length for windscreens likely. We're all snowflakes.

I decided to get this, mostly for the GPS tablet mount options, but when I went to place my order today I see that Rade raised the price to $208. What's up with that? I get that it may have been an early buy special price, but that was never advertised. If I knew that, I would have bought sooner. The early price discount was equal to the shipping. Almost $250 with shipping now. @RADE/GARAGE can you help an inmate out here?

R/G windscreen + Xcreen Sport test update. Today I rode about 150 miles in winds up to 30 mph and road speeds to 85 mph. I am happy to report the Rade screen with the Xcreen fitted works excellent! No buffeting at all and the ride is surprisingly quiet. I have the Xcreen clamped on now but plan to install the permanent brackets. It’s a keeper!

Just for a point of reference, did you try the X screen on the stock windscreen? I have a cheapo knock off on the stock R screen. definitely helps but the plastic hardware is failing. out of the windscreens so far I think the Rade is the best looking. oh and I have the worst body type for M/C riding short legs and long torso. :muutt

Get Smart used a 'cone of silence' .. mind you, it was prone to failure too. ;) Should be a Power Part, but then who wants to replace the multi-switch a 3rd time.

tomstrommer, yes I tried the Xcreen on the stock R screen. It definitely helped but didn’t completely fix the buffeting, and it was still noisy. Else I wouldn’t have spent money rolling the dice on an aftermarket screen. The Rade + Xcreen is remarkably quiet. Without the Xcreen it’s not noticeably better than stock. YMMV

Maybe I randomly stumbled onto something? I ordered a couple of the mirrors from KTM Twins a few years ago for my 1290 SAR and transferred them to my 790r. https://ktmtwins.com/products/ktm-690-950-990-1190-folding-mirror?_pos=21&_sid=c0524b51e&_ss=r

Not sure about the threading, but I did accidentally cross-thread the hell out of the throttle side mount so have another mount ordered. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
