We will start our RTW trip somewhere in July 2020. As a first part we would like to travel South-America with a fellow traveller. He will travel with his van, a VITO. We are currently looking for some information on shipping companies for containers from Belgium or Germany towards Columbia. All information is welcome, also on possible destination port. We are just starting to explore our options.

The best port of arrival for any tourist vehicle is Cartagena. You will need to plan to arrive prior to arrival of the vessel for all the customs formalities.

    Vdelst,

I am also planning a South American trip starting in late July / early August 2020 and hoping to ship my bike, except mine from the United States.

I have a quote from Elite Auto Shipping for $2,500 from Houston to Cartagena. Perhaps they would ship from Europe, as well.

I’m also looking to shop around a bit, so if folks have other suggestions on carriers from Houston, I would love to hear them.

Make sure you get the spelling right--it's COLOMBIA. Just want to make sure your bike ends up in the right place. :rofl

    Try intime-ham.com.
Talk to Olaf Kleinknecht and send greetings from the dunehoppers. Maybe not the cheapest, but good. Also in case he couldn't do it, his informations are always helpful
