Shaming? For being an American citizen and exercising your God-given rights? Heavy sigh.

I have to give [them] credit - it's a brilliant (albeit diabolical) and intentional byproduct of the Fake News' weaponization of the China Virus threat, the virtually-overnight elimination of our Constitutional rights.

Remember what I said to you (via text) on March 18th? "This crisis is being weaponized, IMO." Man, they couldn't have executed a more-perfect takedown of our country (and President Trump). Sure helps when you own most of the mainstream media...

Although Virginia's current government sucks hard, it could be worse I suppose. This is what New York City's Supreme Leader had to say to his comrades yesterday:

His actions are not unique across the nation, unfortunately. Brown Shirts, anyone?

How about the Raleigh, North Carolina police department several days ago?

Protesting is a non-essential activity? Sorry, RPD, our nation's Bill of Rights clearly states otherwise.

Come November, I hope Americans remember shit like this when they cast their votes.

Virginia's interstates, highways and byways are open and free to traverse, says Supreme Leader Blackface-Coonman, and one doesn't need any documentation ("Achtung! Papers, please!") to be out and about (see links below).

Furthermore, with some exceptions (most notably in North Carolina), the Blue Ridge Parkway is also open to vehicular travel (see links below).

Shame on any Brian Stelter-wannabe's who dare try to shame me for exercising my God-given rights as an American citizen...

041920_6.jpg Along those lines, today I just kind of said f-it. I had not seen my daughter in over a month and the prospect of a 45 minute drive to meet in the middle in one of my favorite towns left me thinking that one of my problems has always been living for tomorrow. So after losing my job and 2 weeks of staring at wall I decided to live for today. Quality over quantity, selfishness, who knows but today I grabbed the wheel and met my daughter and her boyfriend in Floyd. Got some take out in Willis Va. at Dinos and had a nice day. I saw a lot of bikes on the road which was actually inspirational. I'll drag mine out next week if the weather holds. Dino said he was struggling so if you happen by Willis Va. he could use your business. He has not given up yet and actually had the smoker going. It smelled great waiting outside for the takeout.

    Regarding your wordsmith statement.

"After the recent storms came through and blew the pollen away, doused our area with inches of rain, our trees and grass are vibrantly green and shimmering in the slight breeze under a favorable and delightful sun".

FBAD, the picture of highway is great, it just captures the essence of riding, beautiful sunny sky, clean stretch of road, let’s ride, and leave the worries of the world behind.

Yeah we're doing good. Not much has changed. Both still have jobs and are healthy . Really can't complain all things considered .

I'm glad to hear you're both well. Our income has taken a big hit, but so far we're asymptomatic. Crazy times, amigo.

Sorry to here about the hit to income. I'm a little on edge waiting to see if I take a pay cut. That happened in 2008 economy. Well we've adjusted our sails many times in life. Eventually we'll have the wind at our back again ( or face [emoji3]) and life will go on. Hopefully when people get back to work and the healthcare system gets rolling again y'all will roll along with it.

Some inmates are driving up from Tampa on Sunday to give Denise's Ninja a new home. I took her (the Ninja, not Denise...) for a spirited spin down the Parkway this afternoon:

Nice bike. The ergos are totally alien to me, and there's zero foot-pounds of torque at anything below about five grand, but she's a happy machine, smooth, composed and comfortable, a well-executed exercise in "light is right":

I ducked out this afternoon to the tune of about 110 miles. There are worse places to ride than the mountains of southwest Virginia at peak spring blush. Tons of motorcyclists plying the Parkway today (essential riding, doncha know...), enjoying the clean air and cool temps.

I just installed a new 8700 Evo 2 Dual Burn LED headlight from J. W. Speaker; what a remarkable improvement in quantity and color of light compared to the halogen unit it replaced.

I'm so impressed, I'll soon be purchasing and installing Speaker's LED passing lamps, as well.

Hey Twig, great hooking up and riding with you yesterday - we crammed an awful lot of ADV into just a 100-mile ride! Thanks for an awesome afternoon in the wind, and so glad that my son Wade could join us around your campfire last night. Tons of rain (and thunder and lightning) up here on the mountain today - you timed your visit perfectly!

Hi to Patty from me 'n D. :):)

Twig and I accidentally stumbled into this very cool gravel road/mountain stream combo that crosses under the Parkway. What a pretty, peaceful setting.
