I met Avner — a Guzzista who has a business in Maryland but a second home just over the “border” in Not-Quite-Heaven :D "Almost Heaven," W.V. — at Md. Guzzi breakfasts.

A couple of weekends ago, we met again for pancakes and other “frowned upon by distaff spousal units” :clapfood at the (quite-fine-for-my-rather-low-bar standards :augie) “Bonnies at the Red Byrd” in Keedysville. Avner was on his 2d-gen Norge then.

Today, however, after romping around the local roads, he stopped in again at the Moto Grappa to say howdy.

Here are a few pix of him and his lovely and modded V7 III.

Avner is quite a motorcyclist with several other mounts in his garage.

Huh, a radial MCS on a V7 Special seems like extreme overkill, even if it is sexy :p.

    LED installation success, finally.

This unit is truly the same length as an H4 bulb.

It's installed and it works. Whether it's any good we shall see. All I really want from it is to be more eye-catching to oncoming drivers and to free up some alternator capacity; if it gives better nighttime visibility so much the better.

Stunning roads. I've lived all over the US, and have nearly ridden the 4 corners of the continent. By far my favorite is the Appalachian range from Main to Georgia. FINE FINE riding.

I have 'liberty' to go for a long ride labor day weekend, not sure which bike I will take, but considering the Stornello and back/gravel roads, and camping...

BRAVO! I have mine for the same reason, and am not sure I get more 'distance' in illumination, but it is definitely brighter and much easier to 'be seen'

Great to see him out on the V7. REALLY like the brown seat, offsets the black/green nicely. I enjoyed talking to him at the breakfast. Is he planning on joining next weekend?

It’s a tight squeeze into the bracket but it does go.

If you make it into my sphere in red , I can point you to some fun roads. :D

The yellow circle is where I will spend Wednesday morning. There is a small lane and a half paved road I haven't been on. :ricky

Will do. My goal is to get some isolation time, but wouldn't be averse to grabbing lunch or coffee and such. I was thinking of the BRP down to Buena Vista, then West on 39 through Goshen Pass and into WV, then North. into WV. I'm still just 4 months post hip replacement, so will be staying away from 'foot down' roads and trails. Still working on muscle strength and the tendons are still a bit wonky. I've only had one or two 'oops' moments, both involving gravel or dirt roads, and it would have been nice if I had to catch the bike with my good leg, but no such luck. Will shoot you a PM.

I may also take the 1200 Sport. I'm doing a fly and ride to pick it up on the 18th. The bike is near Cleveland OH. I plan secondary and state highways. If it as enjoyable as my Norge, and in the condition I believe, it is GTG. Still, will be a fun adventure and I have an American Express card ;-)

Agreed!! I've toured N. A. coast to coast, many times, and have experienced the best M C roads N. A. has to offer. For 38 years I lived 90 north of NYC in the Catskill Mountain/Hudson River Valley area and couldn't begin to count the great riding roads in the N. E. There may be a few better roads in the Sierra's of Ca. and the Lolo in Idaho is likely my very favorite, but in the Appalachians you could ride a different, excellent road every day of your life. Now I live in Florida, nuff said.

I could never live there just for that reason-even as much as I love to dive.

It's only a days ride, 600 miles, to be at the N. Ga./N. C. border. A little longer when I get off the interstate just below the Ga./Fl. line, at Lake City, and ride 2 laners through the very rural Ga. country side.

My parents lived in Key West for many years "back in the day." With the exception of cloverleaf interchanges, there are few roads in the lower half of Florida that have any challenges besides local residents and LEO's. :fpalm

That said, having spent lots of two- and four-wheeled time all over Georgia and north Florida, there are some surprisingly interesting back roads away from the slab. Riding them this time of year is daunting from the heat, but middle and south Georgia and Florida's upper end are not the straight-line wastelands they may seem from the concrete Eyes. :clap

I live in ridding heaven but, #1 on Lolo! I try to do it both ways when out there. I miss the old Harley fly and rides! They got me there a lot more often.

Northern GA and the area around the NC and TN border is probably my second favorite area for riding. I like SoCal a little better mainly because the scenery is nicer (or at least more varied) and the weather is reliably good year round...excepting wildfires lol. Yeah, it's more crowded, but it's not hard to get away from all the commotion in under an hour. And I live 10-15 minutes away from some prime areas that are deserted during the week, so after-work romps are easy.

Southeast OH is really nice, too.
