The Pathfinders organized another work party yesterday afternoon to clear some storm damage and open up a few more trails. 7 members put in some efficient work cutting trees and lopping head slappers. Trails are in pretty good shape!

If it's like the Berks, it's going to be a while.
In 5 places, it took us over one hour to clear one mile of trail

I've cleared more trial in three weekends for the BBA than I have for all trail clearing in the past 12 years.

The USACE had to hire a professional tree crew to come in and remove some of the mess. I believe this was supposed to happen yesterday but I cannot confirm if they were there and if the accomplished what they needed to do.
In two separate work parties the Pathfinders cleared at least 2 dozen trees from the trails while the USACE cleared/chipped as much in other areas. There was lot of work done already. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

    FYI - From the USACE:

TRAILS OPENING-- The Thomaston Staff (with help from the Pathfinders) has been busy clearing trails, cutting and chipping. We are pleased to announce the OHV area is once again safe and trails will be open to riding on Sunday, August 23rd. Please ride safe and if you notice something that was missed, please bring it to the attention of a Park Ranger.

Rode TD today. It was obvious in MANY locations a tremendous amount of downed trees were removed. A BIG THAKS to all that made this opening possible!
