Pick a target and I will see you there :deal

Assume you will be riding across ACH?

I will aim for Lytle Creek Chevron ~8am and head towards Wrightwood from there :pynd
Might have time for Blue Ridge before Joel arrives. No problem doing it again after brunch if Joel wants :nod

Do we know which day, restaurant, and time? I think Matt was talking about the cafe at Mt High north/table mountain.
I am hoping to meet you guys where ever.. trying to get some break in miles on the mighty DRZ 462 engine rebuild.

    Hi Randy :wave
Was hoping you would chime in to let us know which eateries are open.
I've liked Table Mtn because it seems quieter than in town at prime times.

I should be in Wrightwood around 900-930 if you want to meet somewhere.

    Hi Matt
All places are outdoor seating only. Open are
The Village Grind, the Grizzley, the Evergreen, maybe Mexico Lindo, the Brewery later in the day. Jensens with their outside tabels. I dont know how early Table Mt opens...

    9:30 would be OK.

Probably the Grind would be the best shot.

sure enough there was a car crash below Newks, a BMW and a small car, lucky it wasn't a full frontal head-on. someone didn't stay in his/her own lane. Biggie and i were hanging out at Newks and then a female rider who just came upon the accident asked where to call 911 (no cell service in most part of hwy2). we told her knock on the restaurant door since the crew live upstair. no response, and i know there's a ranger station in Chilao. so we jumped in. Biggie rushed to the accident site and i rode to the station to get help. when i get there, they were already getting on their trucks, apparently, someone succeeded in making the call.

not sure if there's a fatality, but the report was the female rider in her small car was trapped inside. the crest is a hotbed for accident. avoid weekends, so many fast kids on bikes and $$$ cars begging to go fast.

Angeles Crest isn't a hwy.. it's a driveway to the largest wrecking yard in So Cal. Glad you guys weren't IN the accident.

Those $$$ Import Racers and the BMW / Subaru / Mustang / Hemi, are the worst. Nice to look at at Newks, but the A-Holes driving, get no respect.

Thats when the DeLorme shines, SOS button brings SAR (or whatever you communicate is needed) actually used it twice up there in the last few yrs. (Hanglider/pilot down, and Harley vs.Deer)

Any decent Offroading? Gotta try Table Mtn for lunch.
