Merino is incredible for the lack of smell. I go on several 7-10 day backpacking trips a year where I am hiking for 10-15 hours a day and I wear the same shirt for the entire trip. It doesn't smell GREAT at the end, but it doesn't smell bad either.

Merino is also very expensive. All my base layers are merino. I like icebreaker shirts and prefer smartwool socks. I usually buy it from thelasthunt.com at steep discounts.

A sweater made of merino is somewhat unnecessary to me. You're paying a lot of money for the anti-odour properties of merino when you don't really need them because it doesn't go next to skin.

Though a thread for Fortnine, I appreciate those pointing out a few “Made in Canada” companies. Got me thinking that F9 should make an effort to source from these companies and other Canadian companies as they are “Proudly Canadian”. Hell, work with Taiga or Stanfields for a F9 co-branded moto specific line if possible. I’m willing to spend a bit more money to support Canadian companies.

That's a long grudge to hold, 19 years since that was published, likely the act of someone who was trying to do good and may not have been there for years. Not many agreed with Collins, even at the time, but I do respect his efforts to maintain free speech, quite ridiculous at times. You lose that you've lost everything. I buy from the best source, which, I believe, is how our best-result economic system should work.
As with free speech, I 100% support your right to choose where and who you do business with.

As he wrote a few months before his passing: "I defended freedom in the 1940s when Hitler was on the loose, in the 1970s when the federal hate laws were passed, and in the 1990s when those idiots in Victoria passed their misnamed Human Rights Act, and that I shall go on defending freedom until the day I die."
There is a significant difference between agreeing with him on issues and defending his right to express his opinion or discuss those issues. We are in an age where that right is under severe attack.

So, placed an order with F9 on Sunday night, still hasn't shipped as of noon Pacific time Friday. Order was for some rider armor, filters, gloves and a BMW-fitting sprocket. Prices on every component were the best I could find(even stateside) and there isn't a lot of urgency except for the wife's new armor. But not fast in this case.

shuswap1...when you ordered from F9 did each item say...in stock ships same or next day. If item is out of stock but expected soon they may hold the shipment so as to not incur extra shipping charges.

I believe all items were listed as in stock, but I'm not 100% certain, to be fair. I understand why they would wait for complete order, having run into that a number of times with RMATV. Fortnine's lack of communication isn't helping them maintain happy customers. BTW, their prices on almost all the items were better than anywhere else.

I did the same thing last year with an order - could have SWORN all of the items were instock and shipped same day. Sent an email after a few days asking them WTF?
Got a reply the next day stating that one item was listed as 3-4 days to shipping, and sure enough - I had missed that one stupid little item.
They were polite in the reply, even though I deserved a "dumb ass" somewhere in their response.

Shipped, apparently, 7 days after order rec'd. 'Expedited' shipping (free) will get the parcel here Oct 15.....so about 17 days to have the goods on hand. Good thing this wasn't urgent. Prices were good, however.

Yep, it was about that for the Tires. They shipped right away but it took a while for the Stagecoach to deliver.

I called FortNine today to see if I could get free shipping ($49 threshhold) on an order that came out to $48.24. Guess how that conversation went...

Back to TwistedThrottle, where they have great customer service.

Been there also, just added a litre of oil or a filter to the order, which I will need at some point. Their price on HiFlo filters is 10-20% less than anywhere else I have found, including the US and no PST charged.

Could have just added an oil filter, you're going to need one anyways... or maybe they are more expensive for an AT than for a KLR

    Edit: 205'd

As to my previous post # 193 above. Canada post tracking showed pick up in Montreal at 5:15 pm Monday. My weights and wheel truing stand were handed to me by my CP delivery person at 11:40 this morning. 67 1/2 hours from pickup in Montreal to delivery north of Aylmer Ont. is great service in my books!!!

I know I could've. I have an oil filter already, thanks. The point is there's nothing else I need right now and I've spent about $1500 at FortNine over the past year, so you'd think .76c shouldn't be hill they're going to die on. Everytime I'm in the unfortunate position that I have to call, I get a snarky customer 'service' rep. Throw in the pony express shipping, and TwistedThrottle is an easy choice.

Good thing RyanF9 is the face of the company, because the culture behind the scenes must be terrible to have such miserable customer service reps.
