TET UK - Great Southern Trail (from Pyecombe to Ropley) 26/09/2020

Fantastic scenery, beautiful small paved roads, absolutely stunning trails - gravel, packed dirt, rocky sections, some deep sand(!). Climbs and descents.

Everything feasible on my stock Africa Twin RD07. Some trails were quite tricky, especially the very small ones in the woods. Bashed in my bash plate (doh) but had no off this time.

I was going to go to the end but started too late, rode too slowly, took too many pictures and enjoyed the scenery too much.
Near Ropley, my fuel pump decided that it's time to call it a day.

A lovely couple invited me in for a cup of tea while I was sorting out the transport back and waiting for the tow truck. Took about 5 hours in the end to get back. Bit of a stressful end to a great day out but oh well.

    Hope you enjoy the pictures!

    Thanks a million, Mr Linesman!!!

And also thanks to a lot of anonymous nice cyclists, walkers, hikers and other folk along the way!

Does anyone know a reasonably priced source for the stem on a rear turn signal for a RD03? Some of the diagrams make it look like it comes only as a complete unit and I can only find it priced as a complete unit. Pretty expensive.

My stems have gotten pretty old and brittle and are starting to crack. The turn signal housing itself looks fine. I don't want to buy the entire unit if just the stem can be sourced. Or does anyone know of a comparable Honda motorcycle that might match? Will a Transalp part work?

    Thanks!

if there is a line around the parts you will get it only as a complete unit
Tansalp parts will work, but only the rear turn signals

Thanks. I found the complete unit on Ebay for a good price.

Has anyone else seen these stems deteriorate? Just old? UV exposure for years and years?

Mine are barely holding on with my RD03. I am just going to get some generics to put in their place. 1 fell of the metal stalk mount when riding. Bound to happen with age

Those on the left side of my bike are great. The right side are both broken and barely hanging on despite my best taping efforts. I'd like to find a full new set. The aftermarket ones are crap.

Fence looks fine - off you go!

Beautiful bike!! My fuel pump just gave in, too - in the middle of nowhere, of course, without enough fuel to let gravity work.... *sigh*
Got myself a Facet, most people swear on it. Still need to fit it, that's a bit of a hassle...

    Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

There is no better pump than .... No pump....
    But ,is this possible?
Here is an idea that i told to Mr.mota when he added an AT tank on his Transalp.
    He did it here

    and test it here

More complicated ,but reduce pump's working hours.
And still working on his and my bike.

As for the flicker , check grounds ,especially inside the dash .
