I rode there Saturday and Sunday and had a blast. The night ride was fun also and got way lost and scared for a while. The trails around Fives Hills are great and some of the ones going up to Gent's Mountain are very rocky and challenging. About half of the singletrack is beaten in and very fun and the other half is neglected and we were beating in and trying to figure out. I'd like to try camping in one of the bunkers next time to get away from the loud SXS riding all night and the freight trains.

Very Cool Motodojo. What bike were you on? Are there separate trails for 2 wheelers or do motorcycles have to go on the same trails as 4x4's?

I found this place by mistake when searching for abandoned bunkers/WWII stuff. I grew up in Calhoun County, so that makes the bunkers even more interesting. I wonder how they got all the chemical residue and unexploded ordinance removed, especially in the area of the bunkers. I believe there are over 100 of them.

I was riding my KDX200 but next time I'll bring my YZ250 for the hillclimbs. It's a free for all, everyone riding everywhere in both directions, making their own trails not on the map. Good idea to have a flashing bicycle light to avoid head ons. Download the Maplet app and the Top Trails map for navigation. It shows the singletrack which has signs at the intersections.

The Maplet app also has Indian Mountain which I have ridden 9 times starting in October. Also great and much larger with many trails not on the outdated map. I plan to go to Choccoloco Mountain soon. It looks like it has difficult terrain so I would bring my trials bike. Hopefully it will have gnarly stuff like this at Indian Mountain.

I’m in the area and happy to help with scull shoals. I’m taking a lot of time off between now and the end of the year. I can cover dirt roads and easier trails on my little versys. Ive gotta put fork seals on my YZ then I can cover any gnarlier single track you need.

I've been there once back when I lived in Bama. It was definitely the yeti cooler crowd but we managed to have fun.

Wow Motodojo! That terrain would be impossible on my xr650, but I sure enjoyed your video. Way back in 1973 I had a Honda TL125 and rode similar stuff in the same area. I remember crashing a lot more though, HA!

Yeah there were a couple that you could ride up and over which was cool. The single track had just started to get cut in but it’s been 6 years since then so idk.
