Neither of my dogs have the temperment for that either. They are rescues that were abused in their former homes. However, I used to have a heeler that went everywhere with me. She even insisted I couldn't go to the bathroom without her. She was afraid of nothing and game to try anything. We are looking at buying a house soon and once we do, I'll get a heeler puppy to train from day one for adventures like that and backcountry trips.

    :-)

She almost never leaves my side unless I put her in the kennel while I'm out... even then, she gets all stir crazy when she hears the freewheel clicking.

Near as I can figure, the only thing she was afraid of was being left behind.

I took a day off today to extend my long holiday weekend. This is the time of year I dread the most. Year end corporate BS, working through year end bonus plans and compensation for my team of 35. As usual, HQ comes back with “take what you had last year and cut 10%”, but this year it was a 20% cut... Thanks COVID, but at least we’re paying bonuses and not laying off people. They don’t seem to realize that cutting 10% year after year for the last decade is a zero sum game. My team payroll of just under $4M simply doesn’t go far enough. I spread the peanut butter the best I can, and then I let the Senior execs figure it out. Stress for me at this time of year goes to 11 and stays there until Christmas.

Best way to relieve stress? PTO gravel! 30 miles down by the river, and I hardly saw a soul. I did see a few sheep enjoying the 80 degree temps and blue sky. It was a good day. Back to the grind tomorrow!

I ride up there pretty frequently. The roads in question are about an hour away by bike, but that makes for a LONG day in the saddle. I'll ride over, ride the ride, then ride home towards June when I'm training for the Hilly Billy.

    Fun stuff.

No riding for me today. Working.

Evidently the Karen/Ken went off the deep end and demanded that my wages be garnished and I get fired for the other day. He also wanted 50% off the Canyon he ordered because he's 'an executive with a fortune 100 company.' Somehow I doubt I'll end up fired...

Up until the past few days we had spectacular riding weather down here in south LA. Since the last time we shot the bull, I have gone to an all titanium fleet and am thrilled with all of them. I built the Lynskey Backroad and Lynskey MT29 and bought the Litespeed T6 already built. Random shots of each bike.

I've been raking my brain trying to figure out that car? Bronco, Range Rover, Amphicar, but none of those are quite right. The rear end is throwing me?

That photo was taken in Mammoth Lakes mid 80's, my first Akita riding with me.

Previous neighbors hated me because I occasionally tested my racebikes (motorcycles) in my driveway, but never "targeted".
Was curious why someone would want to hide the fact they have a bicycle. Maybe its how I perceive bicycles, as just an object.
