thought somebody had been going to fast





turned out his bike had just quit

so a lot of folks stopping to offer assitance

phil gave him a gallon of gas & some else got back with another gallon

he was on the phone with his wife trying to figure it out

we said we were headed to where there were plenty of trailers let us know if ya need us to come back

gave him my card and we rolled on


thought we'd hear that he was good or not but never heard

thne we rolled into downtown hot springs and into the campground

@Voluhzia was all ready set up

camp was right by the river



it didn't sux either


after visiting with everyone phil and me went back into town


just your basic lawnmower cruising town




we were going to the diner, actually we went to the diner but it was closed

then to the beer store, we're standing there talking to the cashier about guns

& phils says red bud are you not gonna take a picture of the rooster in the beer store?

with 2 options for supper we went with the pub instead of the brewery





at the front door bouncer with a gun on his hip told us we had to wear a mask to our table

so we did the banandas & buffs

ordered our beers looking at the menu

phil says now wait a minute we had to wear a mask to our seat but none of the waitresses, bartender or cooks are wearing them

he asked and they said oh the govener has lifted the mandate since you've sat down

we had the cajun patty melt


this was the old paddlers pub don't remember what they calle it now

waitress was a hoot, living off the grid


back to camp

shannigans then bed


the next morning i rode around camp, then to the dollar store

i had my helmet but i never put it on

back at camp will said, isn't nc a helmet state i said yes

he said well ya need a helmet i said i got one and pointed at it

he said no ya need to wear it,

what?

i rode tru the campground it's a nice place if not a little pricey for a campground




at the other end, more folks asking about them other 2





but they did have a killer bloody mary






@Cigars&Scotch grabbed my hand and said i didn't see you last night

gas crisis





a few of us left out for a ride

looking back at our campsite

backing up again, thrusday night or afternoon, maybe someone else can correct the story and add pictures

they're hanging out minding their own business when they hear tires squealing and tractor trailer that had lost his brakes turned over just past the bridge in the pic above

it flipped off the hill onto some hiker cabins below, ( i think they were empty)

caught on fire, then every so offen the propane tanks that heated those cabins one would explode

i think the driver survivied, still to close


over the mt, starting down the other side @knybanjo was signaling left turn





i asked him later if he was signaling so hard because he knew i was back there

this road turned to gravel and between the night before the bloody and sip of something else for breakfast

i was to stiff and stayed in the slow group

we stopped at the top of the hill for a break

i'd loosen up and was more in the groove and able to keep up

we actually passed some awesome waterfalls to get to our break


but out photographer missed the shots


i was thinking at the next stop i'd head back to camp and take a nap

but.............

we hit pavement at easy place to turn back

the roads got better how can ya miss that

I tried,just not hard enough.

i know the feeling

i'd noticed @Cogswell bike seemed to be sputtering every now and then

and a couple of puffs of black smoke, then we stopped

to check a few things





he must have had ear plugs in, because he didn't hear all the jokes i made about owning one of those old pieces of junk

including saying @knybanjo was proabley in tulsa before he noticed we weren't back there


or maybe he was ignoring me


put it all back together 7 we were off seemed to be running fine, he'd never took off any gear the rest of us had to resuit up

that was mike tring to get it started again

i pulled up beside him & looked over

he was cranking on the starter switch

& enjoyed to much saying turn the gas on


tru a full face helmet i could see the relief, then he gave me a sideways look and grin & was off





zipping down the road, i'm thinking about a nap

we ran into kevin coming back to see where we were

at the pavement, kevin was going to hit some more roads similiar to where we'd been

mike was going back to camp

dan had bailed at the last stop, (street bike with ricky racer tires, i would have too)

i considered a right and barborsa ....

when we pulled out we knew where 2 were going the rest of us hadn't commited

we crossed the bridge

kevin took a right on the old road, the rest of us went towards nc




back into hot springs





gas situation hadn't improved
