For me personally, this is a bad deal on many levels. H58 is a county road which traverses in and out of the park. Just a ride to Grand Marais on the county road is going to be prohibitive. In the winter ice fishing season, many of us locals access Munising Bay from Sand Point, which is in the park. Some of the best fishing is just offshore there. Also at Sand Point is a beautiful boardwalk that is a leisurely evening walk for most anyone. I live less than a half mile from the x-country ski trails which I have used for over 40 years. A huge amount of my happy time is in the park. It looks like now a huge price tag is going to be attached....over and above all of the bureaucratic government waste of our tax dollars.

The trend is towards user fees. It shifts the tax burden, ha ha ha, but also gives direct funding and cost / benefit analysis for particular endeavors. If the existing recreation brings in sufficient income through fees it stays safe for that endeavor. If costs exceed revenue received it could get redesignated and what one was allowed is now forbidden...say turning an OHV trail into a silent sport trail...bad for us.
So, in the end I’ll gladly pay user fees to be able to access my sport. It’s no good having a dirt bike with nowhere to ride.

NO areas to ride dirt bikes in the park anyway.

Super! I got my National Park ATV and the above mentioned UP ORV trail stickers ready to go.
I'm doing the Keweenaw Peninsula run from Hayward Wi to Rocket range tomorrow! I'm a first timer so any advice is welcomed. Here is my planned route up and back->

Day- 2 I'm heading toward Mountain WI should be fun!

A new beefier rear tire is scheduled to show up sometime today. With the predicted warm temps for tomorrow I should be on the road early :happay

Hit cycle city and purchased a beta 300rr.I was shocked when he asked me if I wanted to pay a extra 4 bucks for a Street title on a 2T.They are still under the production limit so not epa mandated which is cool.Going to take my daughter who is home on leave(army) to moss lake for some off-road riding Sunday to break it in.Later next week going to take wife for ride up on H58 and a friend that lives in Menomonee will join us on his bike as he never heard of H58. Hit The Door county trials last weekend and what a blast. It was crazy hot but a lot of bananas and water was the trick to make it through the day.If you ever get a chance to ride your street or adv bike down there it is a nice area. Screenshot_20210611-015653.png

I was riding some technical in NE WI (the pipeline) a few weeks ago and met a guy on that same bike and he also said it was titled and plated.:eekers I was in shock and thought he should play the lottery right away. :eekers After some reading it seems Beta's total mfging numbers were below a certain point and allowed the loophole for a title.

I feel like selling my big bike just to get one of these 2 strokes with a plate!:nod
