I've done extensive riding with loaded top cases including 10 days in the UK with the OEM top case and a motorcycle dry bag. I'm not concerned about whatever weight I do end up putting in the top case. I can balance out with weight on the front rack if need be.

What does it say when the first thing after you get your certificate of occupancy. moved into your new house is a scooter?

Actually the builders cleaners are inside finishing the post construction cleaning so the stuff in the truck bed will have to wait to go inside the house. Though to be truthful nothing of any real value will be in the house until we move the stuff from Colorado after we recover from the cannonball.

A bit later start than planned but we departed Knoxville just after noon today for Bar Harbor in the rain. 9D2F48CD-1CD8-41AE-A85E-11FE9DB91B55.jpeg

ETA Bar Harbor sometime Friday. FWIW, those riders and support trucks who have the app running or have done a checkin are on the map at https://follow.scootercannonballrun.com/

    Thanks for the link.

I noticed on the link under scooter eligibility it says wheels 10” max. I assume that is no longer a requirement as many of the listed entrants have wheels larger than that.

Your scooter needs to meet 3 of the 5 requirements to qualify.

Arrived in pouring down rain. GotMojo is trying to locate his scooter. Ran into WDVL in the hotel lobby. I can see a single scooter on a trailer from our room.

Best of luck. Truly the best way to travel and sightsee. Have my Tenere and Multistrada-but love hopping on the PCX150 much more these days.

I posted a few photos in the cannonball thread. Yesterday was see what broke on the trailer and fix it day. For me that was the tail rack. Team mate GotMojo came through with a replacement rack. Plus Motovista threw on his parts to bring to the start truck. So redundant spares. It’s only money right?

Where is t broke the sharp edge gouged the paint and with the rain had already started rusting. Fortunately it was on the already damaged side. So a quick sanding and the red enamel rust stop paint from Ace hardware and the scoot now has red on red stripe.

Have I mentioned lately how frustrated Garmin Zumo make me? Almost e try friggin time I reached a waypoint no matter if it was a bonus photo or checkpoint shortly afterwards it would stop giving me turn by turn directions and be completely silent. I missed several turns as a result and a few other times it sent me in circles. Once almost 10 molted to a turnaround and back to where I came.

one very long road in Vermont has the distinction of being the longest distance of really bad road I’ve traveled on. My back is killing me.

For years the member of the State legislature from my rural corner of Northwest Connecticut refused to let the State do anything much to repair or improve the State numbered roads. He liked it rural and quiet and that's how it was. And the roads were pretty bad. Every winter we had frost heaves and every summer we had pot holes, and millions of patches. So, some of that terrible pavement in Vermont may not have been accidental.

More than half the roads in Vermont are dirt.

GoPam is continuing to have electrical issues and went on the support truck after Checkpoint 2. Kimbered managed to drop her. Scoot on the dirt/gravel section. GoPam and I showed up just it time to help pick it up. Fortunately no serious damage to either Kimbered or her scoot and she was back on the road. Finished the day since she teached the tree down before bonus photo 5 after it had been cleared. It was still blocked when I reached it so I blew off bonuses 5 & 6.

I will admit it was interesting watching the UPS truck in front of me being blown 4-5 ft sideways at every break in the trees. My headlight’s low beam went out but by the time I was able to get a replacement it was too dark to change it tonight so it will be high beams or no headlight during the dat tomorrow. Nite all

Well I’m sitting on the side of the road with a dead scoot. Steve is 1:20 away, sigh.
