    Trans Georgia Adventure Rally
    October 14th -17th 2021
    Jacksonville Fl to Tugaloo, GA
    and Back
This is another CADS event (meaning no rally Fee). We will be traveling North through Georgia on as much dirt as possible over several days. Saturday will be spent riding in the Carolina Mountain area. Then Sunday, All return to their respective homes.

This is a 4 day event Thursday through Sunday designed for the larger bikes to enjoy an adventure. This would be a Georgia Back Country Discovery Route if there were such a thing.

    How this Rally works.

The will be no roll charts for this one. We will have ride leaders that will have the routes on their GPS. Everyone will be divided up into small groups. The plan is for everyone to ride in a group for safety and support. In past Rally's like this one, folks were able to change into different groups as Rally progressed.

The reason for this type of Rally is to build friends and ridding buddies. In our experience of doing these types of Rallies, if we just sling out GPS files, folks do their own thing and it is no longer a Rally. At any time, anyone can just get their GPS to route them from Jacksonville to Tugaloo State Park. They can have the GPS set to avoid highways and even select dirt roads. Bingo, you have your Rally route.

Our fee for this Rally is having everyone play along with our silly games. We are organizing this Rally to be a group of friends traveling on an adventure together. Everyone will be tackling similar challenges together. We want everyone to help each other along the way. This may include beginners doing their first adventure with a group of other riders over several days encountering new challenges. It may include flat tires. It may include flooded bikes or cracked engine cases. So the "fee" is being placed into a group of other like minded riders to enjoy an adventure.

Many of the ride leaders have organized their own groups and ridden various BDR's and other adventures around the Country. Here you have a chance to join in on the fun, even if you have never been on an adventure before.

Our first day will be traveling up to the middle of Georgia and camping at George Smith State Park on Thursday night. Friday we will travel up to the State line at Tugaloo State Park. This is where the Savanah River begins it's quest to the ocean. We will stay at this park on Friday and Saturday night. Saturday we will ride the areas north in the Carolina mountains, Sunday we return home. Bring some of your warmer gear as in the Mountains this time of year it can be quite chilly.

Riders Meeting will be Thursday morning at 8:30 at the Kangaroo Station corner of Chaffee Rd and Hwy 90 in West Jacksonville.

Curious, what is the expected smaller sized bikes on the trip. Better with 1200 adventure or 300 dual sport?

I have seen the following types of bikes over the past years on this ride:
    Yamaha WR250 R
    Honda 250 L
    KTM 500
    Ducati Scrambler
    KLR 650
    DR 650
    DRZ 400
    KTM 390 adventure
    DR 350
    KTM 690
    Husky 701

The only complaint I have heard is Sunday is ruff on the smaller bikes, since it is all asphalt back roads to Jacksonville.

I personally like taking my KTM 1190 on the trip, I could take my 701, but I really might get in trouble on that bike.

Just did some checking, as of now the 1st SP has 14 campsites (up to 6 people each) and 4 cottages (up to 8 people each) available the night we'll be there. The SP for the next two nights has 34 campsites available but no cabins although some of our guys may have reserved a couple/few cabins and might (or might not) have some extra room.

The first time we did this ride about 10 years ago the rangers at Geo L Smith said we were allowed 2 vehicles per campsite we said that wasn't possible because we had 6 motorcycles, a tent, a 20' van and a 30' trailer, they ended up saying oh what the hell do whatever you want just don't cause any trouble : )

No I checked too, looks like enough are available (see above since edit) at the moment but for how long who knows, it is a popular weekend especially further north for the leaf peepers.
