I would NOT recommend the Mylers. The fit is poor and it created too many other problems. I noticed no improvement in cooling.
They are bigger so an already tight fit becomes really tight. I had to hammer a dent in the left side to clear the valve cover. The overflow nipple stripped out on me. They only come with a 1.6 bar cap and the higher pressure ones dont fit. This should in theory reduce its boil over capacity.
Call me salty but I should have just had my stock ones welded up.

Have you checked ebay for the chinese ones? I bought some for another bike and they worked fine. In a pinch Id go that route.

Always appreciated these bikes and recently had the opportunity to grab a 2010 FE450. I immediately started collecting SM conversion parts. IMG_20210806_024611563_HDR.jpg This is how it sits now, more upgrades/updates to follow.

What would you recommend to run on the front, I have a sumo setup so street is out of the equatiom. right now theirs a set of shinko's on that are like 50/50. I got my ass kicked over the weekend in some rough terrain.

Michy starcross 5 hard fatty is a nice choice

If dirt is what you are after that is. They hold surprisingly well on the blacktop also.

i run d606 on my 390, but in a 130... which fits inside the berg's 2.15" wide rim best, imho.
I think 140 tire is better matched for a 2.50"wide rim, like that found on the heavier and larger size dual sport bikes like the ktm 690, lc640.

for the front on my 390, i use pirelli mt21 in a 90/90-21. this seems to match the d606 quite favorably in terms of 90% offroad/10% street.

this has been my go-to combo for about 5 yrs now, and the big reason i keep going back to these is the fantastic street manners - no shimmy, no vibration- and the good hookup on hard to intermediate single tracks. the knobs will struggle on soft sand and mud, but everywhere else, this combo works great. and i get about 1200 miles & 50ish hrs out of them.

I would agree. I am currently running a 140 D606 on my 2.50" wide Haan rear wheel. I had the tire on my oem Berg 2.15" rim, but it did seem a bit wide for that rim.

Guys any ideas on how to close this gap? Seat concepts and husaberg black radiator shrouds. I had the subframe up to chase some wiring and dont recall this gap being there. Just need some speculation here. Seat is fully forward and in place, but seems to topple around a little bit when riding. Snapchat-1127612094.jpg

I just recreated the issue on my bike. There’s a middle set of tabs on the subframe bracket that your seat doesn’t appear to be slid under. This will create the gap.

now let’s see a picture of the rest of the bike. I’m curious to see that graphic and frame combo. :)

Yes under the seat there are 2 holes that have to slide forward along the frame rails and hit the hooks in order to sit flush.

As an FYI, it’s a pain in the a** on my ‘Berg to catch those two rails just right. Always a fight…

Replacing the oem lead acid battery with a LiFePO4 battery makes fitting seat much easier, in my experience, as you gain a bit of space under there.
