I have seen some of these buildings in small towns. Independent Order of Oddfellows. Most I have seen are abandoned.

What are you thinking? I did a 100 mile R circle around Springfield (again); which seems to be a somewhat central location for those I know.

How many sets of tires you been thru this year buddy?

FredZ bought a tire changer early this year in the flea market. Suppose William has it on retainer.

Two rears, fronts are almost ready to change.

For me: I will be riding Lord's Farm Classic 10/02, then on to Layton's MO-Adv 10/3-7; but pretty much open 10/11 to 11/5.

What tires are you using? Same each time? Same on all Moto's? The 501 came with TKC80's, which I was very impressed with. I also learned a lesson on how not to depend on them; which was totally failure on my part not the tires. I replaced them last week at half life (2000 ish) with Michelin 5 Star soft knobby. I have used Kenda DOT knobbies in the past; which worked well for dual sports and enduros. But never in really bad conditions like mud and raining.

On the Versys Continental TKC80s. Have had them on several bikes and like everything about them but they wear fast.

On the Honda Metzler Karoo 3s. vfrpilot recommended them and he was right.

On both brands I have can run two rear tires before I have to replace the front.

My Triumph has been collecting the wrong type of dust lately. I’m planning on riding tomorrow if anyone cares to meet up. I’m a little burned out on riding my home territory, so I’d prefer to get a couple counties away.

This road in Missouri reminds me of certain parts of the COBDR.

Yesterday it was time to ride over south of Paris, so I did.

William, what mileage do you usually ride on your day trips? I rode today with a group of guys. They like to leave at 10 and ride a couple hours to a lunch location, then, after lunch, ride a different rt back home. This is usually around 120 - 150 miles total. I leave earlier riding by myself looking for and on dirt, gravel, under or un-used roads and some closed or seasonal roads with lunch in a small town.

What kind of day ride and milage do ALL you guys like to ride?

I posted this up, maybe a couple of years ago. The Newport Indiana Antique Auto Hill Climb is coming up Oct. 1-3. This weekend. A really good time, for the end of summer. Automobiles, bikes, a giant flea market, and great food. I was told that this is the second largest motor sports event in Indiana. We have gone for years and it is a great car show, old bikes, historic farm belt driven engines ( in the bank park), and great food. The history of the automobile in your face. Not on dirt, but up the paved hill ,starting line is on the town square. Bring a chair, and enjoy. $10.00 per carload to park, and no admission to enter. The proceeds are given to the local Lions Club to help out the area.

I haven’t been there for a couple of years but motorcycles used to park free and very close to the square.

Most of my rides are alone and run from 100 to 200 miles. When I leave depends on when I can get my fat ass up. Lunch is usually a power bar and what ever I buy at Casey's to drink. I look for the same roads you do.
