There are quite a few remnants of the Copper mining that took place. Take a look at Cannonshot's UPAT ride where he has a number of them catalogued. Currently there's one active iron mine at Tilden and a nickel mine at Eagle Mine. There's talk of reopening a copper mine at White Pine. Randall's Bakery in Wakefield makes a damn tasty pasty though not truly with the big crust of the old days.

There’s enough in that thread to keep me going for a while, thanks much.

Well, since I am several weeks behind, and now I dont have the time, Im afraid there is only gonna be the first half of a riding season posted here.

The final 3 months will have to wait for another year. Simply no time to deal with it this year.

I am happy to report, Charlie Brown's christmas tree has now reached 7 foot tall though ! :clap

That looks like Lake of da Clouds in da Porkie's.

Its at peak now from what others posted yesterday. It will be past peak next week if tomorrows rain strips leaves off the tree's.

Still no killing frost, which is unusual, so its a extended foliage season at this point. No tellin when first snow may arrive and strip leaves also.

Meanwhile, the little known lakes and flowages are doin mighty good for a low rain summer.

I ended up harvesting the " Charlie Brown Christmas tree" a week ago.

It will make a decent holiday tree.........sadly the flower is whats known as " Dad Weed ".......... its reactive but as weak as your dad's weed from the 70's. I give it away as a kinda laugh for the memories of the decades gone by.

Looks like no killing frost for the next week ! :clap

Gonna need to put some landscape projects on hold and ride instead ! :D

Some will be past peak, but other colors will be at peak. Its less green and more shift to gold / bronze and yellow.

This was a tad pre peak looking out at Copper Peak ski flying hill a dozen miles north of Weed Town.

Not just yet. Let em entirely fall first, then pull out the leaf blower. They are falling REAL fast as of yesterday !

We are way past peak colors, yet have a odd mix of green tree's and a resurge of yellow. A very odd year with no killing frost yet, and none predicted for the next week.

Years ago, I was able to ride snowmobiles around the fields this time of year here.

Nearing the end of fall color season.

Still there in a few pockets, and even a bit of green in places, but overall, its mostly done.

I see SE Idaho is getting snow today ! Wont be long till it falls here ! :clap

    Fall colors are allmost over.

The marshy backwaters of the rivers are now browning off all the grasses and cat tails. The beavers are busy cutting branches and adding to their hut and dams.
