Glad to see you're already planning the next one. I just sold my KLR, and will be replacing it with either a Super Tenere, or MG Stelvio. I plan on making the trip up to AK myself next year. If I see you, dinner's on me!

Believe it or not when I went to Alaska in 2011 my trip was the longest ever...over 15,000 KM's. Although I am in BC it's a long ways up there. My trip across country this year was only 14100 KM's and I even went to North Carolina to NY, Ontario and back.

Alaska was kind of a let down after the Yukon. My plan is to return once the road to Tuk is completed.

Oh not that I disliked Alaska. It was great but it just did not have the same big open wild feel of the Yukon.

    Leslie,

I just stumbled across this RR.... I followed your Alaska ride and shortly after bought a Tiger 800xc.

This report really hits home, as I too went through a divorce this year after 14 years of marriage. Thank you for your honesty and perspective. I did a short 5 day, 1600 mile ride to Yellowstone to "blow off some steam" in July. Maybe I'll get around to writing a past tense RR this winter...

I hope all is well with you. Know that many people think about you often.

Sent from my iPhone using the "hunt & peck" typing method...

I have been riding all Fall...crazy trips. You can read about my latest on my blog in my signature. I am now thinking of moving back to the States. So many changes and decisions.

My F800 is looking mean lately since this trip. Love it to pieces...

Thanks for reading my RR and enjoy your own travels. I sure do.

Sorry to hear that... That has to just suck beyond belief, especially so soon after the wedding. I am trying to make sense of this story, so I hope you don't mind me asking, Why did she leave ?

not really sure..she left and we never talked about it again. I tried but nothing. I am doing much better now...as long as I keep working and riding. And...my bike looks like a true GSA now...
