Going out and riding is a good start, I cant thing of a better way to get past this. Most of us have been where you are, maybe not in such a dramatic way, but you are in good company ! The good things is, it may be the end of a relationship, but not the end of opportunity... Don't give up on the possibility of finding another partner, life is full of unexpected surprises, many of them good. Thanks for sharing your story and writing an awesome ride report :D

Someone found me and then I found her

Came out of nowhere like everyone told me it would.

OK...job first, sell the house which I think I all ready did...pick a state based on where I get my job...then move...take a break and plan a trip after I move and before I start my new job. Focus on the potential new relationship and keep looking forward. :D

Pick somewhere very far south, so you can ride all year. Year around summer is AWESOME !!!

When I left the north for Miami, people told me I would miss the change of seasons, etc. etc. What a bunch of BS, I don't miss waiting 8 months of the year just for the weather to become nice.

Mike it will most likely around New York. I will still ride year round like I do now just not when it snows or ice. So a little saddle time with the new location but I will survive lol

Way to go! Love that you keep riding. We don't stop riding because we get old...we get old because we stop riding.

Trust me I agree and I've been on the bike a ton since last May. Just did a winter crossing to Long Island in January/February

Thanks for a great RR with nice photos. Very entertaining to read....
I've had Type 1 Diabetes for 30+ years and notice several times your mention of the need for "more food" and just wanted to suggest if you're having low blood sugars to consider lowering your medications instead. Otherwise, a weight gain would likely become a problem.

    Thanks again......
