A couple of coincidences Rellik! I just hit the link for your Ride Report and went 'oh shit!' - I have your link saved as I thought it was a great RR worth saving (I read it last Spring) - the tracks are excellent! It is a very good story.
Also, that is funny that you recognized Robin - that is a small world. You obviously grew up in Penticton - I as well, but I have a few years on you as I met both of Robin's sons while I was there and they were 7 years or so younger.

Thanks! I have another report brewing from this summers ride to Lake Chilko, just have to get it started. I never realized how time consuming they are

Solid freakin' ride report! :clap You can bet I will be contacting you for advice over the winter as I plot my trip for next summer.

Good call. This book is worth it's weight in gold for planning this trip. I found it worthwhile to read throughout the day while on the trip as it put the area, town, trail or road into perspective with a touch of the local history. It's easy to ride by something and not realize the historical aspect.

Mine just arrived yesterday. :ricky Thanks for the reference. It will come in handy next year for a trip to CO. I won't get to ride nearly as much of the route as you did but that can be for a future trip.

Thanks again for the awesome RR. :bow

These are more shots from the archives of Ronyx.
Robin's sled. You'd never know that this 950 has over 30,000km's on it.

Very typical shot on any given weekend at my house - there's usually someone's bike parked right at the front door-step. Here Robin packs and repacks.

The modern day 'zoot-suit'. These Rallye Pro's rock. Mine saved me quite nicely last Spring as I power slid down the pavement.

    Robin's essentials...and my neighbors house.

My Woody's Wheels. Received them just before leaving for this ride. Absolutely no issues. You get what you pay for!

The other half of my WW's.

The inside shot of the righthand side pannier on my 640. I packed very efficiently for this trip, but there are still a few things I could have left behind.

Flightdeck view. Everything was very clean when I started this trip.

This is a work of art.

Putting the final touches on the packing job. My drybag is looking pretty brand new!

First stop after leaving my house was Gary's in order to pick him up.

Gary and Rich looking very clean shaven and clean. Gary's shop is in the background. It is a piece of art!

    Rear-end shot of my 640.

The sisters as Gary likes to say.

Gary put the Scotts Stabilizer on just prior to leaving. The mount for it was machined by a good friend of his in Calgary.

A better shot of the Scotts.

    Looks a lot like mine.

I also noticed that Woody had used these pictures of your sweet wheels in his BMW F800 Hub Recall thread. He must just as proud as you.

I picked up a bunch of Voile straps at MEC several weeks ago. They came highly recommended by Joemotocross and his friends, and I am no friend of bungees. They are the bomb! . . . . but I'm so easily pleased.

    Great pictures.

Thanks Thumpercrazee! It was very cool to run across you and your wife as well as all the other ADV Riders we met along the way. Every day of the trip is so vivid and memorable for me - I distinctly remember the heat that day, the barrenness of that neck of the woods and your friendliness/advice. Thanks for finding this RR!

    . . . . . . this is how I left it back on early June

a few miles later on they were having a hippy Rainbow festival and I think the poor tie-dye must have spent too much on the marijunana and not on the fuela :feelgood:bubba:choppa

we suddenly came across a parking lot and of wannabe hippies over the next miles - the GDT is never boring

I don't know how I missed this report last year!
It must have been the old-timey-vibe of the title. I'm a product of the california public school system - Me lazy. Me need flags like, "TAT" and "CDT." :lol3

Anyway, great RR. Loved it. Had to give it a bump.
