Still got the front brakes to sort out (waiting on parts) and then generally clean and fettle it.
Inspection (MOT) next week and then get it registered and job done.
On to number next then.
That sounds sooooo nice! Great work!
A bit more on the project bike.
Fitted the inner fairing. It bolts to the tank. This helped stabilise things. I then drilled more holes to bolt the outer fairing to the tank and inner fairing (such a complicated system).
Then I fitted a pair of mirrors bought off Ebay. The original mirrors are only good for inspecting your elbows.
Now the fairing position is stabilised I'll now focus on the headlamp opening and mounting position.
Waiting on the screen to arrive and then I can send it off for painting.

The bike sounds like it has just come of the production line how many years ago?
Around 42 years ago.

Here's one that was found still in the crate a couple of years ago.
There was a brand new 0 mile SFC for sale here a few months back at $35K. It was advertised for months too, and might even still be unsold. Bit of a surprise as recon SFCs are close to that price, and most of the triples are in $30+K territory. A very nice recon Corsa came up this week for $65K - Laverdas are pricey here.
What's a Recon Corsa? Never heard of that one.
I'm guessing a restored RGS Corsa?

Yep, recon, resto, whatever you call a total nut and bolt rebuild and restoration in your country.
Ah, I was thinking it was some sort of Zane era Laverda that I hadn't heard of. Like a variant of the Ghost Strike or something like that.
So, the front brake m/c seal kit finally arrived and the brakes are all now finished.
Just a clean up and finessing of carb settings etc and it will be finished.
Tomorrow I have booked it in for some professional photos to be taken, as I do with all the restorations I do.

The screen for the new fairing for my project bike also arrived so that got fitted. The fibreglass fairing will need a bit of finessing and some spacers made up as it's a lot thinner than the stock Bayflex fairing.
My welder is on vacation so hopefully next week we can get the headlamp brackets sorted out on the fairing support bracket.
Then the headlamp hole in the fairing can be finalised.
Once that's done it will go away for painting.

Still finessing the fairing. I want to get it right before getting it painted.
It's a hellish complicated design where the screen bolts to the inner fairing (which is the main part of the fairing). The outer slots into grooves in the edges of the inner fairing, which wrap around the edges of the outer fairing.
PITA to fit original parts so this fibreglass replica needs a lot of love.
Also fitted an old instrument panel to see how it all goes together before I order a new one.
I'm really loving the round headlamp look!

Fettled the engine settings today.
All that's left to do is shine it up then take it for inspection tomorrow afternoon.
The new owner is coming to collect it next week.
Maybe I should start another thread on the blue bike?
