I think it's time to send on my 2001 KX500.
Haven't hardly ridden it in the 5 years I've owned it. Still puts a big smile on my face when I do ride it.

Had a new top end before I bought it from a old guy who it was his baby before he had knee surgery. It's in great shape has an FMF gnarly pipe, aluminum skid plate and frame guards just above the pegs, trail tech vapor and a tether kill switch.

Have a bunch of spare parts that go with it, including a brand new paddle tire mounted on the factory rim and a set of black plastics 20141010_183244.jpg 20141010_183254.jpg CR-500.jpg .

Having some trouble deciding what to price it at. Most of them listed online are looking for 4500 to 6500. Are people really paying 5k for KX500s?
Bike is a hoot to ride and I am going to kick myself for selling it later.

First I have heard of a tethered kill switch on a bike! Haha

They do seem to fetch big money right now!

It was on there when I got it, keep it wrapped around the bars, Pretty sure it's a sand rider thing. I don't like riding in sand.

As for power, I think it's just about right. They make great bikes for new riders.
It does seem to throw a lot of rocks out behind it for some reason.

Luckily they run out of gas just before shaking you to death. Looks like a nice '01 I would say you can easily get $3500-4000, really don't see very many up for sale these days and they do sell quickly out here.
