Hi, I'm just looking for advise or suggestions regarding a trip from Lake Charles, Louisiana to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
If done, it would be from the 23 Nov to 1 Dec on an F800GS.

I need to be in Albuquerque on the 28th no matter what, so I would need to decide on which roads/trails to use depending on the time to get there on time.

Appreciate all the feedback you guys can offer. Regards. Alberto.

Plan on eating BBQ in Lockhart

Ride as much of the Twisted Sisters as you can make time for.

Too many alternatives available in the Big Bend region. For a challenge, try the Big Bend State Park. Pinto Canyon Road is interesting, as well.

For serious adventure, divert from Pine Springs to Dell City then north to Pinon, NM.

This allows a couple of days to extend into areas you'll find interesting, particularly near BB.

    A million alternatives...

NFE thank you very much for all the information provided. Things have changed a little bit and it is more likely that we won't be able to do the trip on the bike as my wife is having surgery next week. We will have to go on 4 wheels.

However, a few days ago I had to go to Austin and did a stop at Lockhart, we had BBQ at one of the two famous meat markets and it was awesome. Great place to visit. They had live music and it felt like the old times.

    Best regards,

    Alberto.
