Oh, that's not mine. Belongs to one of my garage mates who has a 690 Enduro and F800GS.
Don't look great....mine are not much better....all you can do is measure, correct torques...maybe over torqued in the past. Or its major expense...
Its a cheap design option from KTM....some other manufactures use shell bearing, its something I've toyed to see if the heads and bridges could be machined to accept....
Oil starvation could be another possibility... definalty clean the cams to make sure there is no allly on them...fine wire wool.
Can you clarify this a bit? You're saying that as part of my service now I should use some wire wool on the cams? What am I looking to remove from them? Material which might have scraped off the journals?
Yeh, if any white metal (ally) is stuck on....it will cause more damage. But thinking about it now its unlikely any ally will be on them...my mind was more on phosphor bronze
