Nice one mate! That really is an achievement. Like others here I would be really interested in what you did to it and what parts you went through on the journey.

I have just hit 52,000 kms since I bought my 2010 990R with 9,000 kms on it last march, and I plan to give it plenty more rather than change it out.

I reckon Aurel should chime in with his latest mileage update, I know he hit 150,000 kms during his trip, but having settled into home life back in France now has his wings clipped somewhat with a young un on the way :clap Hell he even bought a scooter for his commute. :huh

    Well done.

    I'm at 42,000 miles with a 15 month old 990 Adv.

One front rotor, one rear rotor, 3 sets of brake pads, one set of fork seals and seven sets of tyres - not bad. Always serviced at 4,500 miles and just back in the UK after completing Ushuaia to Prudhoe Bay then over to New York for the journey home. :D

I've been really wanting one of these but when I buy a bike I expect it to be good for 100k miles. This thread gives me hope. So really, what other than normal maintenance have you had to do to the bike?:ear

I'm glad to know that I've probly got a lot of miles left on this sweet bike, before I have to deal with it's death.

Many fellow riders suggest I get a smaller bike..."they're so much easier".....they just don't get it.

How often did you change your water pump shaft, seal, and bearings?

Long story, but to sum it up, after the first replacement of seal, bearings and shaft at just under 70k, I started replacing the set every 20k miles. Eventually, I had a shaft cryogenicaly treated and just replaced the seal every 20k. Still on that shaft with no sign of wear so far. Haven't had a pump failure yet, so I plan on keeping up this schedule for the foreseeable future. Plan on doing a leakdown test this winter, but don't expect to find much loss as the bike still doesn't need oil between 5k services and still runs strong to red line and top speed is still good.

Had to stop at the end of John Brown's Canyon to wait for the GS's to catch up so I snapped a quick pic.
