Does it burn any oil at 100K?
His 150,000 mile report is here
I see Kith normally on a weekly basis! He definitely rides a lot! His Strom is definitely a testament of a great bike.
I had to replace the stator on my 03 at about 14k last summer...havent had a problem since.

You've got great taste in bikes....and silver ones are faster.
Here's me getting my hand stuck trying to clean out crap from the CS. So far, no mechanical failures but I'm nowhere near 100k.
I wonder how many miles are on this thing now...
as of Oct 16......184,634
no mention of air filter changes ?
thanks for taking the time to record and share your vstrom history
I use K&N an air filter, no changes, I just clean it every 10-15K
Jeebus. Do you have a job?
I'm in the 50k range on my K5 SV1000S, nice to see the bike holds up for so long...
I had heard of a guy who is/was some sort of messenger in LA and for a time used an 03 SV1000S...last I heard it went 200,000 plus miles
Most wear on the motor occurs either at start up for about 5 minutes or when revving the crap out of it.
If you start it and ride long distances before you stop without too much redlining, you will get good life out of the motor.
Regularly serviced Taxi's often get 750,000 to 1,000,000 Km out of a motor, the same motor that probably only gets 200,000 - 300,000 in normal use.
This does not mean that the Suzuki motors aren't well built, but the way any motor is used will have a big impact.
I knew of a fellow in Minn who had a Suzuki LC 1500 who last I heard was north of 250,000 miles on the odo. I have a pic of his odo at just north of 200K. My Wee will be worth SFA on a trade, so I'll be keeping it until one of us dies
March 11, 2011...198,000 miles
I ride with Kith (wera688) a lot. I bought a K7 DL1000 in December of '09 with 3k miles on it. I'll be catching up to you around August or so...
And yes, we both have full time jobs. We just ride a lot, too. Kith more so than me though.
Good on you guys. Good to see bikes well used.
You whacky guys turn up anywhere. I saw your brake conversion. Very Nice! Thinking about going for a putt with the wifie today. Maybe out to Wrens and eat and that funky restaurant.
Ask Kith to post a picture of the Odo on his Harley. It's well ahead of his V-Strom...
