I see Kith normally on a weekly basis! He definitely rides a lot! His Strom is definitely a testament of a great bike.

You've got great taste in bikes....and silver ones are faster.

Here's me getting my hand stuck trying to clean out crap from the CS. So far, no mechanical failures but I'm nowhere near 100k.

Most wear on the motor occurs either at start up for about 5 minutes or when revving the crap out of it.

If you start it and ride long distances before you stop without too much redlining, you will get good life out of the motor.

Regularly serviced Taxi's often get 750,000 to 1,000,000 Km out of a motor, the same motor that probably only gets 200,000 - 300,000 in normal use.

This does not mean that the Suzuki motors aren't well built, but the way any motor is used will have a big impact.

    Cheers
    Graham

I knew of a fellow in Minn who had a Suzuki LC 1500 who last I heard was north of 250,000 miles on the odo. I have a pic of his odo at just north of 200K. My Wee will be worth SFA on a trade, so I'll be keeping it until one of us dies :hide

I ride with Kith (wera688) a lot. I bought a K7 DL1000 in December of '09 with 3k miles on it. I'll be catching up to you around August or so...

And yes, we both have full time jobs. We just ride a lot, too. Kith more so than me though.

Ask Kith to post a picture of the Odo on his Harley. It's well ahead of his V-Strom...
