    I got chain off the chain slide, guard and cover all toast. Friend coming to rescue me take me bike to Vancouver have new chain sprockets waiting for me. Hopefully tranny okay.

    After taking that broken chain off start it up and go through the gears and listen for anything unusual

    I did that there is a rattling noise in every gear except neutral. Hoping once chain is on will solve that, shaft appears to be running true.

    Man that sucks, brand of chain? 12000 kms is very low for a break, even on an OEM.

    Was riveted link was all good all links were good except one that broke No links were seized I got bike apart every thing else is okay

    AFAIK from various forums and speaking from personal experience the EK SRX-2 is a good chain.

    That's where the case breaks. Mine was worse and leaked oil. Clean it up well and monitor.

    That line is is were was scrapping gooo off case chain lube I bought was terrible never set up

    On ferry now to get chain slider only shop that had it

    Reaver whats your thoughts on EK SRX-2 chains ?

    I have an EK chain and JT sprocket setup on my 800. Never again. Looks like it has twice the mileage it really does.

    I stick with DID chains and stock sprockets now. Spend the money up front.

    When you have to tighten your chain often, it's telling you it will soon break. Not directed at you, just mentioning the warning signs. Down here, ANY 525 chain takes a month to get. I stock spares.
