1090 Spark Arrestor?

What are folks using for a spark arrestor on their 1090? I guess same can be asked of 1190 and 1290

I was wondering the same on my 1290. What to do? So I installed a ZX-9 muffler and used stainless sink screen mesh in end of muff. Also lowered muff on install so soft bags fit above muff without burning. No sticker but visable screen that I hope will have the rangers happy.

Hopefully that works. Yosh has a slip on with spark arrestor and db insert. Pricey though.

Yeah for sure. With these bikes going off road I am really surprised there isnt many options or advertising on mufflers that have them. I know Rangers can be a stickler on them. IDK? And I sure as hell dont want to be “the guy” that burned down forrests let alone people losing their homes. Cheers!!

Does the factory muffler have the said CA stamp and a screen?
I dont recall it having any of these.

I honestly dont think it does. I could be wrong. I think I remember looking for it ( USFS) and also shining a light into muffler but saw no screen. And like posted earlier they stick a rod down bung hole to check.

You could leave California and come back to the United States...

For starters I moved out of SAn Francisco and came back to planet earth.

Move to the UK, the weather takes care of these problems for us.

Because a forest ranger with a sporadic stick test when in the woods beats annual MOT inspections.

Says who? I called the local ranger station in capitol forest, they said the catalytic converter satisfies the requirement.

Says every US forest service website about spark arrestors

District 36 told me that if they put their probe down the pipe and no screen or turbine, I cant participate in their event. Even if I have all the stock equipment installed.

I told them the ranger at Carnegie said it was all good. D36 said then get the ranger to write a letter on their letter head explaining why it is okay.
