Well, I'm bumming. My right side centerstand bolt sheared. I drilled it out and it isn't even thinking of budging. I tried a large EZ-Out and even forced a 6mm allen screw to try and continue threading it out the other end. It's frozen solid. I guess at this point I'm going to just trill it all the way and try to go back to original size. That's a 6mm tap in there now (photo).

Anyone else had anything like this happen?

Your image is as broken as your centerstand bolt is.

Happened to me last year while putting gas...
The bolt was seized and had to drill it.
I was not able to do a clean job so I drilled a bigger hole and used a Helicoil.

I think I read your post last night. Hope I don't have to go that route, but I'm almost there if I do.

Your pic isn't working but if you're using the ez out out that is cone shaped it could cause the bolt to bind. The issue is that when you are getting it to bite the bit is getting bigger and could cause the diameter of the bolt to swell just enough to cause a bind. I like using the through bits. Specific size hole drilled and bit tapped in, no swelling and no binding. Here's a pic of a peg mount bolt that sheared and it came right out.

I forget which side but, mine had been loose a couple of times.
Let it go too long and the bolt had fallen out during a ride.
Replaced it with something laying around in the tool box.

To avoid problème with double stand bolt, i sugest all owner to instal BDCW side stand relo. The kit mary the foot peg bolt with double stand end bushing. With this modif your double stand will be indestructible

I was considering that thought as well. Especially since I've drilled it as large as I have.

I’m happy to report I was able to drill out the bolt then use a chisel and didn’t harm the threads. I’m back in action. Thanks for the help everyone.
