The 11th Annual WMRC Ride in Bishop, CA. they changed the name to White Mountain Research Center(WMRC) a few years ago so this unRALLY is the same but with the new name.

Thursday July 23 thru Sunday July 26. (some folks show up on Wednesday)

DO NOT SEND ME ANY MONEY, THIS IS AN " UN RALLY ".

Stonewall asked me to keep this unRALLY going, so i am.
this is the official WMRC that has been a tradition for 11 years!

GOOD NEWS!!!! the rates are now $7 per person per night.

CAMPERS AND RV's ARE THE REGULAR FEE OF $28 A NIGHT.
you are allowed up to 4 people in the RV space which totals $28.

you need to pay for 3 nights even if you stay less.

this camp area is reserved for Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night.

if you want to stay longer, pay more.

YOU PAY COLLEEN OR DALE YOURSELF. DO NOT PAY ME.

    i reserved the same area.

pay for yourself the moment you arrive at camp.

go to the camp store and pay either Dale or Colleen.
    :freaky

    CAMPGROUND

Again, this year we will be using The Browns Owens River Campground.
    http://www.brownscampgrounds.com/owens.html
It is located on the Benton Crossing Rd ( also known as the Green Church Rd ) 6 miles east of US 395. Turn East at the Green Church just north of Crowley Lake and just south of the Mammoth Airport. The campground has showers available from 8 am until 4pm, very clean restrooms, and a small store with Beer and Ice. They also have a grill for Breakfast and Lunch.

    DO NOT CALL THE CAMPGROUND!!!

I have spots in the horseshoe area again.

I WILL BE IN CAMP SPACE #78.
    WHITE FORD VAN

Also the Camp Ground is located at 7,000 ft. The nights can be cool, that's why we use it. Also there are COWS on the road, that's why they call it "Open Range"

Showers are available 8AM-9PM for $2 a token. 1 shower is available 24/7 locked from the inside.

    Store is open 8AM-5PM

    Check Out is at Noon.

Quiet Hours (generators off hours) is 10PM-8AM

Pay at the store when you arrive. This campground can handle RV's of any size. If you like to fish, bring your gear. The Fly fishing is fantastic here. FYI this campground " Does Not Take Credit Cards" ( no land line, but cell phones work great ), but they will take a check and of course cash.

Rhonda is no longer part of Browns Campground. Dale and Colleen are in charge.

PM me or post if your in and I'll put you on the list :deal

keep in mind this is an unRally.
come out and ride with friends new and old.
the ride up to the top of WMRC on Sunday is not an organized ride. but you will easily find other riders to cruise with.

IT WILL BE COLD AT NIGHT

AND YES, THEIR ARE STILL COWS ON THE ROAD

Once (twice now) a year the White Mountain Research Center opens their gate. Located in the Bristle cone Pine Forest, this is the only time of the year that you can ride all the way up to the station and check it out ( 13K ft ).
It used to be the first Sunday in August, but now it's July 26 this year. as well as Labor Day Weekend. July is a better date for everybody over Labor Day and it's closer to the traditional date so we're sticking to the July date.
ride dates are 07/23/15-07/26/15, with the open gate on Sunday 07/26/15. sorry, no cookies and milk up top or the open house this year.
ride up to the White Mountain on Sunday to see the amazing views.
    .
The area is loaded with great dual sport riding and camping. This a great weekend of riding the high country , with much cooler temps. I will be making the trip, hope you can join me. The pic reports below say it all.

Info On White Mountain Research Center:

White Mountain Research Center, with its principal office located in the Owens Valley near Bishop, was established in 1950 to provide laboratory facilities for any qualified research investigator wishing to utilize the high-mountain environment for his or her work, and to serve as teaching facilities for field courses conducted in the region. There are four separate laboratory sites: one in the Owens Valley; a second at Crooked Creek, at an elevation of approximately 10,000 ft (2,090 m); a third at the base of Mt. Barcroft, at an approximate elevation of 12,500 ft (3,801 m), making it the 11th highest high-altitude station in the world and the fourth highest in North America; and a fourth, the Summit Laboratory, atop White Mountain Peak, at an elevation of 14,246 ft (4,340 m). The Summit Laboratory is the fourth highest high-altitude research facility in the world and the highest in North America.

we are all in spots 73, 75, 77, 79, 78, 80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90. there's a possibility if we have a lot of participants, or if you have a huge RV, that we will take any of 92 - 116. check with Colleen or Dale about those spaces.

This sounds good. I have some questions though:

Noobtermediate rider on a S10. Is this for me?

Can I ride most of the rides on TKC-80ish tires?

Is there some sort of restaurant where I can eat/drink, n00b rally-like?
