Hmmm, ok I am trying to figure out how they could discount something I am selling on there?

    Example:

I used to be an Aimpoint dealer. So I list one for say $600 and trust me the profit margin on them is slim....maybe $30-40. So someone hit's the "Buy it Now" at $600 with free shipping, and now Ebay is giving the buyer $100 off? It's not coming out of my pocket, so Ebay is losing almost three times what I would make?

Sellers pay massive fees and don’t see the discount that eBay provides. A discount for one day that hardly anybody uses is a drop in the bucket.

So eBay reimburses the seller the 20% discount? eBay can't people to discount their item.

    Sketch.

No, sellers don’t even know there was a discount. eBay provides the discount to the buyer when paying for the item. Seller gets their money minus eBay and PayPal fees.

Businesss have promotions selling items at a loss all the time. That is all that’s going on. eBay and PayPal collect over 13% in fees. On everything. Every minute of every day. They are providing a 20% coupon (limited to a whopping $100 max discount) to a small number of people who know about and use it for 12 hours of one day.

I spend thousands on eBay and receive eBay bucks to spend every quarter. Same thing.

Hmm, I take it you don't know much about business, marketing, generating revenue, or the tax benefits of writing off losses in business either. They can probably write off almost every cent that it costs them in their marketing/advertising division. The joys of the American tax code :-)

You are correct, I do not know much about retail/etc. I did throw a Miller spool gun in my basket, and darned if IAByron's coupon does not work.....outstanding!

FYI, if you want to purchase multiple items, just add them to your cart. Perform one single checkout using the coupon code.

It worked for me on a cart containing items from 5 different sellers, all got the 20% discount.

I cleared a few items off my Amazon wish list this way -- they are typically also available on eBay.
