Saw this on reddit. Fucking bastard thieves. Somebody was on the inside on that one... that number of bikes and type of bike doesn't get stolen all at the same time without somebody knowing where they were. The good news is those bikes are all most likely too unique to unload in this area without somebody noticing something amiss, but that bad news is that it means the fucking scumbags will take them to another state, probably.

I cruise CL pretty frequently and have been keeping an eye out and told a couple of my riding buddies about it so that's a few more sets of eyes, anyway.

some of the bikes are starting to show up, at least two are in Colorado (one is in dolores colorado...the 65 montessa. he has had it about 20 years and it has no papers, just distinguishing marks...he probably will not be able to get it back)
Police are working the other one
give the cops a chance, do the fu^^ing paperwork
you don't own it if you do not have a title

I hope he has enough photos and other identifying information that can be attributed to the bikes without paperwork, so that he stands some chance of getting his property back.

I've been wondering about the Ariel since I first saw this, wondering if there's any way to track who posted the for sale ad, etc and trace IP addresses or anything.

I hope he has some luck. There ‘might’ be a cop on this case that cares but I doubt it. The cops will just get his hopes up until they all lose interest and go onto something else. If they find out that this is a gang of some kind, #Forgetaboutit.
Also, once the trail is cold, the perps (if caught with a bike) will just say that they found it in a ditch or that they bought it from a guy that they didn’t know. They all know this game and it’s sad but the criminals have taken over.

Nothing. The cops either don't care or they are afraid of confronting the perp. We went to at least 5 different agencies with all the info they needed to go after the guy but still........nothing.
    They are worthless IMO.
The only way to get a cops attention is to change lanes without a signal or roll a stop sign and then they will want to "talk to you". Have something valuable stolen, they don't have the time of day. :flip
